The most hated and longest off season

Without a doubt , I am going to hate this off season more than I have in many years . I've wanted this season to be " never ending" to continue to witness these changes and improvements in our side .

I also want to keep hearing what ryles has to say and what he is working towards

I want to keep watching the energy and vibe the fox has brought with him

I just CANNOT wait until March , it's going to kill me waiting to see the next season .

I've never hated finishing early more as I can see what we are capable of and want to see it to fruition !!!

anyone feel this too ???

    • I think 27 is the year and I hope we can land a big fish or 2 add amongst the juniors.

26 I just want to see a continuation of growth.Sophmore Slump is a real thing. What we forget is other teams get paid to play to everyone that has debuted has to add to there game.We can't stand still and hope everyone else gets worse. We need to be the improvers across the board on and off the field.

Teams will have a feel for who we are now so they'll also be more prepared.

  • I'll answer this question after Sunday's game.

  • I think it'll be a lot harder off season if we lose this last game.

  • I don't think there's ever been a year to start the way we did but finish the way we did ever :)

Wanted the season over when it started ha but now I'm like you sad it's coming to an end. It's like watching a toddler learn and grow, huge joy :)

Just wanted our edge defence to improve and I would've been happy with that. Got so much more. I thought we needed an experienced coach for our mess but JR has been absolutely what we needed. He has made watching our team play a joy. Really like him. Club chose well.

    • I like that Fox thing Carls, it's almost an "Old Fox" now.....there the best types by the way.

This next orf season will be interesting, as will our awards night.

    • defensively Macy we've improved, 3 things that stand out

Both edges know when to slide, when to move up - that line on either side of the field is connected and working as unit.

a smart coach teaches his wingers to use the sideline as another player, this is why you can defend with a one man short if required and not concede a try

We have a resliant team and they mirror the coach and are guided by Jason's support staff - great times are ahead i really believe that, although BA period is over, for a defensively minded coach that was his label he had no idea about defensive systems and it showed- getting flogged in finals and thinking "chasing the collision " is the only to win games that makes him a certified dope lol

    • First contact and inside pressure Macy that's where edge defense improves first and foremost.

Ryley Smith has been the catalyst for defensive improvement you can see it with him the edge improves when you don't have to worry about your inside shoulder and someone's always coming .The mentioned is the catalyst a good thing to watch is when he goes off how the kick pressure and inside drift lessens and teams take advantage.

Bodies on the ground to is another sign of how ineffective our edges can be also if we aren't secure at the ruck we will be exposed on the edge.

  • Carlo, I'm the same, except I want next season to have started 3 weeks ago, so our awesome games can amount to top 4.

Ive been ready for next season since about round 10.

Fingers crossed our spine players stay healthy for next season.

  • Looking forward to it reading their training sessions. Ryles sending them out to work and then taking them on a ruthless training session. This will be interesting

  • Yep agreed.

So refreshing to see this Ryles coached side develop and show what a real team looks like and one that plays with a 'made for the opposition' game plan for once.

10 years we've watched and listened to an absolute dope who can hardly string a sentence together. Ryles gives this club some hope and some semblance of professionalism. Next season can't come soon enough IMO and gees what a long off season it's going to be 🥹🥹

Is that really true? I thought this kaizen thing was something you made up."

The Commbank crowd, the second-largest of the season, rose as one, applauding. Ryley Smith’s passion-drenched face said it all as the Eels closed the year winning five of their last seven.
It summed up how Eels fans felt watching the 66–10…
