Now it looks pretty certain that Peats will be back in the blue and gold next season but rumours of his return has brought up some major criticism by alot of parra fans which i really dont get.
We must have alot of fans with short term memory loss, seriously!. Come on, you cant critcise the resigning of peats but also then codemn BA for struggling to put out a decent hooker.
Peats is one of only a few players ive seen in the last 10 years who i can safely warrant as someone ive been proud to have at our club. While yeah hes gonna cost some cash but its not as if we have signed chris sandow for a shit load again. He is easily the best hooker on the market and he brings alot to the club.
Not only does he bring a quick hard hitting balanced game, he also has arguably the best line speed in the comp and most importantly of all he brings an unpriceable level of culture and enthusiasm to the team. Ive really noticed since he and kenny have been out, the team havent looked like a team that wants to play for one another anymore, they dont show the positive all in attitude anymore and its annoying to see
Now before i get criticised, alot of the arguments ive seen about Peats is that he is too injury prone.
If you are thinking that right now please take a step back and think about the number of times KPritchard goes off each game with an injury.

It looks set to happen
This is where Kaysa will come back into the equation. Kaysa is a good little player and will add that difference so long as he isnt forced to be playing a full 80 which hes proven to not be able to do. BA needs to be more logical towards how he plays Kaysa by giving him a smaller role to make that impact we all know he is capable of.
What does Kritchard's injury-proneness got to do with Peats? If we already have one injury prone hooker on the books it doesn't mean we should sign another one.
We clearly we have problems at the number 9 position and something is better than nothing. I am certain that he is much better than his competition who are also off contract such as Lichaa. If we dont do something about this problem than we will end up having Kaysa being our dominate hooker ( a role he isnt capable of because he is more a 20 minute impact player) much like how Matt Keating was our best hooker for 6 whole years at parramatta.
In saying that though there are some pretty good hookers coming through the ranks for us. Reed Mahoney i think his name was, looked fantastic in the u20s last week and he could be a good shout in the future but he still looks very young to be throwing into first grade
Poppa, when considering injuries regarding both Kaysa and Peats, it seems so far this season, that he's been able to play big minutes without real injury problems, he did have one that was thought to be long term but only missed time in one game. Peats is certainly no better in regards to being injury prone as he was injured when he first arrived after being supposedly fixed by the Souths medico's.
Watching Peats last night against the Broncs, I though he had a fair game, in defence and other areas of the 9's role. He had a break and I don't think the move to put Taylor at that spot or when Elgey went in there as well actually worked, with Peats coming back without a long break.
My thoughts, and maybe will be seen as being wrong, is that if Peats does come back to the eels, then Kaysa would make a good bench replacement with the two of them sharing the game time, Peats would be seen to offer more in attack and with Kaysa off the bench will add to the defence of the team. Who knows, as its still 2017
