The Best Outcome

I'm trying to work out what would be a better result for us.Is it for Parra to finish 4th and play Melb?Or Parra finish 5th and play Penrith/St George?Or can we finish 2nd or 3rd?In any case welcome back to the Finals!!!Yeehah!!!

  • Top 4 is best scenario.
Who cares if we have to play the Storm. If we lose we get a second bite but if we win, we're one game from the GF baby.
At the end of the day we have to beat the Storm to win it anyway - if it's the first week of the semis so be it. The side will take away a lot from that experience in the semis and that will prime us into the 2018 season should we fail in the 2017 semis.
    • I reckon it would be good to play them first week of the finals. I think BA and the team have the kind of attitude that provided they weren't belted would learn from it and come back stronger.

As much as I hate the storm this season is theres to lose sharks and roosters have dropped off and imo the only teams who were playing at that standard.

We are on the up at the right time I am just going to enjoy being interested in the finals for the first time in years.
  • Id rather us face Roosters in week 1.
Assuming that the roosters finish 2nd.
We can absolute chock full SFS with blue and gold. And roosters can bring their 32 fans.
  • Top 4 for me; and tbh we have nothing to lose imo. play Melb / or east etc I don't care we have the team to win. Agree with Frank again on this; we have to beat the best to win; can still recall warriors winning down there a while ago and also Penrith beating easts the other year, which was good to see.
    • Agreed mitchy it doesnt matter
  • We could finish as high as 2nd. Top 4 here we come
  • Statistically you have to finish top 4 to win the Competition.
    • Not necessarily the Eels finished 8th in 2009 and made it the Grand Final only to be ripped off by the salary cap cheats!
    • Yeah but nobodies won it. Melbourne is arguably even stronger this year.
      • By rights the Eels did win it! Most other sporting codes would have given it to the Eels based upon the Storm cheating!

"Same here, MW. Both give us more depth, firepower, and starting options.
Ryley is ahead, but TDS has wheels you can't coach, and an unknown ceiling worth developing and being patient with."

"That decision is ultimately why Ryles gets paid the big bucks. You also have to manage workload. Sure, we could ask Ryley to play 80 every week, but that would likely lead to his impact dropping and becoming less valuable to us."

"I think the two hooker rotation is the way to go, a lot of teams are doing it now. With the speed of the game increasing, the workload, and workmate, of Smith needs to be reduced enough for him to be at his best by seasons end, don't want him burnt…"

In our well-justified praise of Ryley Smith, there is a big thing being missed: his ability to read the game and footy IQ.
He is a couple of plays ahead and anticipating every move both in defence, primarily at present, but also in setting up the…
