Damn what a player he was. If he's ever going to get back to this form its going to be with us. If he never plays for us again you will never see this Hayne again.
As much as there are equal and better teams than us I think you are spot on. Some players just need to play for certain teams. Remember Adam dykes? Five/eighth of the year playing at Cronulla comes to us (the minor premiers by a long way) a year later and plays terribly. Goes back to a poor Cronulla side and plays well again. Just the way it is. Come home Hayne.
and to think that Hayne use to cop plenty of criticism from some parra fans for not doing enough, really!, no other player in the history of the game would have a highlights reel as good and definitely not as long as his. He carried a team, no, a club, on his shoulders for years but for some it wasn't enough.
What a great story it would be to see Hayne return to the Eels ( the only team he’s ever really had his heart in) and win the Premiership next year! That would be a fairytale come true for sure! He’s certainly a ‘superstar’ and an incredible player!
"Defensively. 4/11 seasons were we higher than 8th. 7/11 we were mid-range 8th to 16th. We were Jeckly-Hyde. Moses essentially admitted it on a podcast: Even the best year (2022) was up & down. The group was surprised & just content to make the GF."
"Yep, Chiefy, true. I reckon 2025-26 is around a $5-6m cap hit because of the rebuild-clean up.
PS: I was going to add details of that but my blogs are already torturously long enough."
"And don't forget, the club still had a few million dollars worth of players on our books who had either not wanted to play, released, or in the process of retiring - Matterson, Ofehengaue, Cartwright, Lane, Hands.
"
"You outline good points on Ponga Bluey, I am a bit different because I am a natural contrarian and whilst seeing those faults, I am not so sure that he is not a victim rather than a cause i.e. he has been handled badly and his father has tended to…"

If he can do 1/4 of that he's still worth $1000000

This makes me emotional with nostalgia

Those skills don't go they just need to find a new home, here at 6 or maybe 3? Either way hope it's true.
At his best, he is one of, if not the best.
Has been a while since he played like that though.
Consistency is what he needs for the next 3-4 years and he can leave the legacy he is suppose too!
