these are the three main things i believe need improvement before we start winning alot.
1. Kicking game
-rely on hayne too much
- instead of standing back and preparing for a kick we stand flat and get mobbed by players causing us to do poor kicks
- we are not studying up on opposition fullbacks and wingers, bomb to players like wesser with poor hands, kick the ball out to players like slater etc
2. Pressure
- we arent pressuring opposition playmakers like they do to our hayne, we needs players running onto them all the time making them not wanna run the ball, and when its the last tackle pressure the kickers. in the last weeks game and tonights we have allowed their main playmaker in benjii(last week) and sandow tonight to have too much time to kick, think and run.
We need to pressure them more forcing more errors and rubbing them out of the game(like they did to our hayne)
3. Basics
- Hold onto the ball- we are throwing it around like its always the 5th tackle, keep it their is plenty of time no need to do stupid passes or offloads
- allow more time for passes- instead of doing stupid forward passes or as the opposition are about to hit us. ive seen a few games where moimoi gets it close to the line, about to get hit and drops it. its a good play to do but do a short pass and give him time.
- running sideways/backwards- no one like players running towards the sideline or backwards, so when we get it run straight especially close to our line(reddy, inu).
right player in right spot- Can someone tell me why reddy is running off the scrums? we need big strong players going forward, why not tahu or do what oppositions do and use a forward, i mean horo(even moimoi) is built for that kinda stuff, one player in front and some room. so i dunno why we dont use them, thats where we miss grothe.
