Agreed. Thats also an opportunity to have DB next to Joash, good for his development, especially DB's voice defensively, while Joash learns the position.
Maybe Ryles feels Russell is committed & his improvement means he earns that spot. Can respect that also.
Oh well, the future is certianly here. Not looking forward to this one.
Keep a combination. Russell and JAC know each other well. With Williams now moving to that edge and with Papali'i not smart having Brown in a new spot as well. It was either 6 or out.
Canberra outside backs have been on fire. Just feel DB would stiffen up the defence out wide.
Oh well, it's going to be one of them games... strap yourselves in. It's going to be a rough ride.

Ordinarily NOS, I'd agree with you in having experience next to inexperienced. But we know DB isn't vocal. I don't think Russell has been all that bad this year considering the rebuild and for me, he would keep his spot over Penisini (if he were available).
Call it whatever - apathy, "burnout", self preservation, etc but at this point if you were DB, he is most likely focusing on not getting injured for next year and his whole spiel on being 'all in' was BS
"He Badger ,correct me if i am wrong Western Yarn was trained by Ray Guy , and Butch Cassidy. was a Jack Denham trained horse (showing my age ) i had halfCaulfield / Melbourne cup double fair odds $34 like all punters when they win should have…"
"Good job Poppa.
Personally I didn't think Half Yours would stay the 3200m and lets be honest it was a terrible preperation in horse racing terms, the horse had been up since January, it was almost like every race since about May was an afterthought…"
"One of those two Moretti or Tuivaiti have been earmarked as Jnrs replacement ideally if these 2 kick on its problem solved. That's the ideal scenario for Parra and it will allow us to swing harder in positions of need.
left centre right side back…"

It's about time he was fucked off. When's Penisini and Moses back?
DB needs to replace Russell, otherwise the Raiders speedy outside backs will score at will
That definitely won't happen. If anything I'd put Brown at 13 and Walker on the bench.

Fair point on combinations LB, but Russell is completely incapable of putting JAC into space due to his lack of timing, passing game & speed.
We are losing points with Russell at centre, maybe it doesnt really matter now? Stick with the combos as you say & get Papalli game time.
I agree Brown would offer Fox more then Russell can.
Not sure Russell knows how to pass a footy.

Very good points also, Seraph.
I guess this is what a rebuild looks like....
JR did mention he would talk to the leadership group about this weeks lineup, maybe the players feel this is the best way forward now.
