                    • Randy, Cleary has been criticized for not being an State of Origin player. Maybe it's the system that doesn't work for him the same way it works for him at the Panthers. Some players coming into the Panthers have excelled some players that have left have probably gone backwards?

                    • How many people on this site have dealt with elite athletes? Many people working with elite athletes have not been successful?

                    • So what does that mean?

Was not the point being made about some players being handled badly,

                    • I wonder if  Galvin decided to go with Bulldogs to further his career with a Gould (Panthers) inspired Bulldogs system which is working very well in a short time span?

                    • Its a $64 question Tad, without knowing what is in a kid of 19's head, my guess is he has been councilled (by whom) that it makes sense rather than the "bigger punt" that Parra would be.

Everone knows that I am not a Blaize Talagi fan but his move to Penrith is unqualified no brainer. Playing there (there was a position available, unlike Galvin's situation).

Go back to my previous comments about Parra's record of bringing young players through. I am trusting in Ryles potentially managing this in the future, as long as he is provided with the materials to do so.

There is a strong argument developing that building from the bottom up i.e. Juniors then Cup is his best approach. I think he needs to buy some experience just the same.....if he is not winning FG matches then he cannot last to see the foundations working for him.

                    • Players being handled badly is a two way street. Some players don't respond for a reason. That has to be worked out. If you want to keep a player who is not fitting in ( eg Brown) you have to work that out . Would Brown be a better player who reaches his potential in another environment? I don't know. There are examples where players have thrived in the right environment eg Jenkins at Panthers.

  • Have we named a full strength side this year?

I'm thinking not one week have we had every player available. FML.

    • Nope. Been like that since out GF. Never named  full strength team.

      • Sad but true and over that time we've had key guys out for long periods.Hazard to say how many different spine edge and middle combinations used aswell. All is a recipe for failure we seemingly can't take a trick.

I'd suggest S and C side of things needs a hard seeing to aswell among other things.

Prediction: D brown will be in the 17 come kick off.

its good that Ryles is looking to the future.

Key here is identifying and keeping a group of talent together for as long as possible.
Keep moving them up through the grades and getting that transference."
