This may age terribly , he may put egg on my face. Let's hope so. But I swear everytime this guy enters the game our attack just goes from hero to zero. How can a team transform so negatively from one dude taking the paddock ?

Hector I can believe that. We have Nathan brown as assistant so has a former hooker as coach and from what we have seen our coaching setup is all about teaching . At tigers he has no hooker coach and doubt api would have taught him anything
He's got a bit to go TDS just got to get him comfortable within how we play then we may well see what he is next year.Newcastle we're so poor and what we saw from us as a team is hard to gage. The best thing is we went on with the job and gave them nothing for the most part.
Definitely needs more contact work defensively TDS at this point in time I think we have more control in and around the ruck with Smith on the park.TDS is a wait and see but as above needs to work on the mentioned and just get physically stronger much like Guymer.
TDS has a technique issue with his service.
He stands up and takes a step before passing. He needs to be better than that. He should be able to pass off the ground, both ways without standing up and taking a step. Riley can do it, and it brings the runner onto the ball quicker, getting them on the front foot. TDS definitely slows that process down. He's a better runner than Riley but service for a dummy half is not optional, it must be quality. Hopefully a pre-season can deal with that issue.
There's been something of a shift in the way that young hookers play coming from reps; where they stand most rucks, bar on the last when they're trying to get the ball to their half quickly for the kick. Thinking being a smart hooker has more options if they do this and can engage markers, etc. Brad Arthur had completely the opposite view and very much favoured pass off the deck. So the way TDS plays is completely different to the way almost every other Parramatta hooker has been taught to play so its not surprising that there's a bit of disconnect out there
1 thing I did notice even though Moses kept giving him sprays yesterday when he messed up, the whole team and Moses in particular reaction when TDS got a try. As much as fans criticise and question players place in the team, their reactions during games show they are a tight group and TDS obviously has support of the playing group.
If they thought he was hindering the team as much as fans do I don't feel they would have shown the level of excitement and support for TDS that they did.
yeah i noticed that too. However it didnt match ciraldo's excitement when galvin scored in the eels game
Respectfully, I disagree with this take completely. I can see why you think so though...
Firstly, you need to remember that TDS has been dropped into this side mid-season. He needs to find his feet and adjust to the team dynamics. Basically, what I'm saying is - he still has the Wests Tigers stench on him. By next season, I'm sure he'll be cleansed of it lol.
Secondly, do you not realise how quick he is in the ruck? We've seen it on a few occasions where he's managed to get a quick play the ball and expose lazy defenders. I honestly don't recall us having a hooker with this ability since PJ Marsh (maybe Kevin Kingston). He showed it in the Knights game where he was able to make a linebreak from a dummy half run. Once he finds his feet and gets used to the team dynamic with Mitch, he will naturally get more comfortable in knowing when to feed Mitch and when to run. Ryles wants to play a very fast-pace brand of football and TDS will be isntrumental to that moving forward.
Lastly, this is still to be determined but I'm very keen to see how the minutes will be split between Smith and TDS moving forward. I think you have to start with Smith but as long as TDS' ego allows him to be happy coming off the bench, I think we could be in for a great hooker combination here. Melbourne pay Grant over 1 million per year. We're paying about the same for 2 hookers. That can be a big win for us if we get it right and they fulfill their potential.
Word Bingo "He needs a pre season under the belt"
Not sure if I'm right, but isn't Hodgo still working for us ? If so maybe he can do something with TDS in off season.
He really needs to learn a few things. His delivery and technique is where hodgo could help , his defence needs to get grittier that's for sure. He has absolutely no trouble backing himself and just needs to realise when to go or not. To me possibly thought he was more ready than he actually is. JR is playing him well to suit and giving him plenty of chances.
hopefully it works out for him in full off season. Up to him and his willing to realise he has a way to go and how to get there is thru hard work (aka as the Riley Smith factor)
Both Ryley and him together we could end up with a great pairing🤞
Yes Mace he is in the development side and you can bet he will and has been in Ryleys the other young blokes ear
