He said halves plural. Lorenzo 1, but I don't know who the other 1 is. We have a lot of forwards coming through. Doesn't seem to be many backs coming through.
Talen Risati (17 year old 5/8) and Lincoln Fletcher (18 year old halfback) are also gun halves coming through the system.
Outside backs are definitely the weakest area in our junior system but there are a couple of good 18 and 17 year olds coming through in Rokusuka, Johansson, Moala, Sorovi, Bloomfield, Davis
Did anyone notice in the presser Ryles when going through the squad said maybe middle depending on someone going out. Not sure what he meant but could it be Paulo retiring? Could it be Tuivaiti back to Cup? I don't know but there is no need for Moale if Paulo is here with Hopgood.

Not sure as he was saying he has all these positions locked up and said about the middles as in starting. Matto is not going to start under Ryles even if he comes back.

I reckon he's talking about Matto too. , could be wrong , but we are waiting on him finalising his ESL deal.from what I've been told via Chinese whispers , Mattos wanting is contract paid 50% by us for 2026. So he won't lose a cent playing in the UK.
The Matto situation alone and the coin hes on should be enough to qualify grounds for sacking MON . Not to mention the other agreements he's locked us into we've had to deal with .
I'm still curious as to where our moneys being spent. It's the biggest question any Eels fan could possibly have going into 2026. Half of our team are virtually rookies , and we are to beleive the caps even remotley close to accounted for ?
So much for not paying players to play elsewhere , we'll have both Matto and hands on our payroll next year playing elsewhere.
Wiz, i am glad you are not single handedly blaming Matto for this deal. At the end of the day not his fault he was offered this deal. This deal is a black mark on MON.
No not his fault MON offered him a ridiculous offer. But we can blame Matto for not living up to what he would've promised dopey he'd do once he signed the deal.,
This is why it's so fucking important to have smart operators managing re-signs and contracts. Matto had sat on his hands for 2 years leading up to that deal and then pulled his finger out when the re-negotiation was due , then went back to doing exactly what he'd shown us he would do previously. I don't think there was a single soul on this page that didn't see it coming other than Ploppa who'd been writing thread after thread about how Mattos our best player .
Yes heard this too and I assume Matterson; I cannot see Paulo leaving before his contract has ended; but hey who knows. We need the experience and I have had a dig at Paulo for consistency but to me this year was one of his best years as he led the juniors mostly by himself. We need another exp type backrower for me.
Hope AMS stays as he has time on his side and has height; saw big San wandering around last game and he willl only be better too albeit injury free
