I'm sure the Bulldogs will some how find room for him under their cap ( presumably with Mahoney's money) but this is exactly the kind of player we should be signing.
He brings a lot of energy when he comes on for the Tigers and has a good running game.
Let's not low ball him and make him a decent offer for a minimum of 3 years

If getting Silva means relegating Smith to the bench or reserve pass then Hell no.
We made a big mistake losing Mahoney, we don't need to do the same thing with Smith.

As many have said maybe JR doesn't see him as a long term answer.They were connected to Tom Starling a month a go so from that I guess Ryley Smith isn't the answer as they've dumped Lussick and Hands also.
Got to think there looking for a starting 9 and won't give Smith a big upgrade if any if they find the mentioned.
Anasta did say Ryles mentioned he wanted an eyes up Hooker. He has Smith already and still on the search for a Hooker. If they Hooker was older then fair Smith could learn. But Da Silva is younger, therefore he must be seen as the future.

I could see it happening, they haven't had a full team since 2022 just like us. Add Murray, Graham, Fifita and a healthy Cody walker and they have a good chance
