Parramatta were not at their best on Thursday night, however, the positive was that they managed to graft out a win.
In previous years Parramatta could easily have frustrated themselves into a loss.
The Eels have talent, but they are well short of being a premiership-winning team. They don’t have a premiership-winning mentality.
They don’t place enough value on excellence. They have the ability to beat any team on their day.
However, they don’t have the mentality to beat the best teams on the big day. They are still very much a work in progress.

Mentally Fragile they are indeed, this need to change fast
Can't disagree with that.
Sad thing is it's looking like we won't find out whether that's true or not this year.
Cant argue with that.
Each way bet Gould at it again, i respect Goulds commentary on the game, he knows what he is talking about but boy can he state the obvious after the fact or have a bet each way.
They have the talent but not the mentality, so if we end up getting it right he was right but if we don't he was also right. He has talked all off season about us not looking to be in the right mind frame but then picks us top 4.
Gould has a history of stating the obvious or commenting after the fact, he knows his stuff but boy can he hedge is bets.
This is 100% spot on HKF.
Nailed it. Gould's intuition was always right, irrespective of the outcome.
However, they don’t have the mentality to beat the best teams on the big day.
And who is responsible for this?
They don't place enough value on excellence?
I have heard Poppa say this about a number of people Sluggo ole son.
