No injuries.

- After the first minute of the game I immediately knew that no matter how good we try to play that we would not win the game. The corruption was pretty clear. But wow we played awful.
- The sin bin was obviously a horrible decison by the ref
- The captain challenge was another horrible decison by the ref
- The number of 6 agains on 4th and 5th tackle just because Grant asked the ref for it was BS.
- Iongi getting a high tackle and than a crusher but not getting a penalty for it. Than being sent for the HIA was BS too.
- We lost control of the ruck because we would get pinged for a 6 again the moment we held on for a second. What were the eels meant to do. Two different games were beign reffed. Storm are the one team you CANNOT give loads of possession and a quick ruck too. We have zero match fitness since round 1, so that spine, our errors and refs but it impossible to defend under fatigue. We played 60min with 12 men too.
- Now enough complaining about the ref.
- Kelly and Penisni still cant defend 1 on 1 tackles consistently.
- Pezet is overrated. He is not a 6 and looked good at Storm in theri system. He is slow and a poor defender.
- Da Silva is a reserve grader. 1 year into a 4 year contract and I may have already given up on him. His service is putrid. He cannot control a ruck even though he didnt miss a tackle. His decison making is poor.
- Smith had the worst game of his career. Errors, missed tackle, etc. Really hope this was a one off
- Our bench rotation was completely fucked up because of the Iongi HIA. Our bench was a fullback (Papalii), hooker (TDS) and 2 small forward in Doorey and Walker. They had no chance in competing with Storms elite spine and big forward pack once they got a roll on (plus refs help).
No one is saying we played a great game or were not poor with our handing. We hurt oursleves for sure. But apply all the context. Refs fucking over from the start. The bench we had to use cause of the HIA BS. The countless 6 agains. Try to control the ruck and get pinged. Versing the best spine in the comp with all of that is impossible even if we completed well the refs wouldnt let us win I am certain of it.

No positives from me mate that was just poor and if you ask me we need to play ASAP who have we got next Brisbane up there or at home I don't know but just waiting all off season for that.I can't even bring myself to talk about the officiating because we were just poor terrible nothing else for it.I can barely find one player who I thought would rate a mention and that's saying something.
Moses Paulo WTF your our leaders where the fark were you guys to just get us completing sets.Jnr please run first bend the line pass later.Absolute shit show.
I was being a smart ass with positves only being no injuries.
Yes we shot oursleves in the foot. But I am with NOS, the cards we were dealt also had major influence on the game. I am certain that even if we played good it would have been near impossible to win with the corruption.
Good stuff and observation from NOS, some of this stuff needs to be put into a package and presented to the NRL executive with question marks.
i would also like to have the refs (field and bunker) interviewed under oath as to what or any instruction the refs were given in the leadup to the game. Also the executive of the referees, who ever that is.
I would also like to see these incidents all fed into an AI package that can identify inconsistencies across the spectrum of the game.
I believe some of 6 agains that we received were on the first tackle, I believe there was a number that Storm received on the last tackle, you don't have to be Dick Tracy to work out the modus operandi.
I'll second that. I am also over that damn rining bell for 6 agains.I hate them.it influences the game too much.
Spot on, Pops - at least 2 of our 5 were first tackle.
Storm had more than 5 set restarts on 4th/5th tackle alone.
Huge possession difference.
Yep agree its the old saying you keep getting punched in the face a hundred times times . Somethings got to give
As Pops said, ladies and gentlemen, you don't need to be Dick Tracy to see what was going on.
From around the 45th to 72nd minute, for almost 30 minutes, the Storm had completed 17 sets to our 3 sets.
The score went from 18-4 at the break to 46-4 by the 66th minute. And then, Simmonson was sin-binned. The cherry on top.
That captures all the buzzwords. Momentum. Fatigue makes cowards of us all. Frustration. Anger. Capitulation and all that jazz.
It's a minor miracle we only conceded 6-points in the final 14 minutes with 12 men — to eclipse the 64-10 scoreline the Storm put on us in magic round in 2019, seven years ago.
63% completions to 85%. 17-8 errors. About double conceded six agains. 66m kick metres in the first half. When Manly upset the Storm last year 18-16 they kicked for over 850m.
The Storm were pumped. Practically, everything that could go right for them, did. We were our own worst enemies. We will swallow a few 'schooners of reality'. Perhaps, it is not just what we “deserved” as Ryles suggested, but what we needed.
But something needs to be done about HQ and refereering. Should we have exposed HQ, is something I'm wondering. Putting an interlocutory injunction on the result of that game and subpoena the heck out of HQ and the powers to be would be interesting. We might not be able to win the shadow wars in the NRL land, but we might stand a chance of scoring a point in daylight and legal land.
Broncos next week. And the Panthers not long after that. Is this the biggest challenge of the Ryles era to date?
That’s seven straight losses against the Storm since 2022 and if you include 2019 scores it’s 362-100 (average 40-11).
64–10 | 32–0 (2019) | 16–12 | 46–16 | 48–16 | 32–14 | 56–18 | 16–10 | 52–4
History has a funny way at laughing at us all.
Well said and absolutely accurate. If the Lomax court case went on longer it might have exposed some of the NRL 'funny business'
Man, that is very ugly reading HOE.
Says it all.
HOE, going further with history, that was our largest 1st round loss since 1963.
This was Jason Ryles biggest loss as a coach.
Storm 9 tries to our 1 try is one of the biggest differentials in tries ever between the two clubs.
