Super League v NRL.

I have never watched that much Pommy Super League, but the last few weeks, with no Parra, I have been desperate. What strikes me the most is the MASSIVE gulf in the skill set and quality between Pommy league and NRL. Dummy half running doesn't seem to exist, handling is atrocious, end of set plays are ordinary at best , and holes in defensive lines seem to be HUGE!! I don't think there is 1 single player I would want from pommyland. Can you name 1?

  • I hear Gareth Hock is the secret "gun centre"

  • Possibly their administration?

In trying to find the schedule for GF day, I stumbled across this NRL media release :

    Grand Final Day schedule

Premiership winners, State of Origin and Test stars will officially hang up their boots following the 2015 NRL Telstra Premiership.

They include Grand Final captains Justin Hodges (Brisbane Broncos) and Clint Newton (Newcastle Knights).

Also present on the night to take part in a lap of honour for retiring and departing players will be David Stagg (Broncos), Frank Pritchard (Bulldogs), Glenn Hall (Cowboys), Bronson Harrison, Dan Hunt (Dragons), Richard Fa’aoso, Matt Keating, Beau Champion (Eels), David Fa’alogo, Kurt Gidley (Knights), Nigel Plum, Sika Manu, Nathan Smith, David Simmons (Panthers), Bryce Gibbs (Sharks), Ben Lowe (Rabbitohs), Bryan Norrie, Tom Learoyd-Lahrs (Storm), Matthew Bell, Keith Galloway (Wests Tigers) and Sam Rapira (Warriors).

Other players retiring or departing following the 2015 NRL Telstra Premiership include Reni Maitua, Krisnan Inu (Bulldogs), Fuifui Moimoi (Eels), Timana Tahu (Knights), David Williams (Sea Eagles), Brent Kite (Panthers), Terry Campese, Dane Tilse (Raiders), Glenn Stewart, Lote Tuqiri (Souths), Ben Roberts (Storm) and Brad Tighe and David Taylor (Titans).

“We will say goodbye to some outstanding footballers who have all made an enormous contribution to the game,” NRL Head of Football Todd Greenberg said....

It’s just another example of the governing body’s ineptitude imo.  This lack of attention to detail on the NRL’s  biggest day of the year is just embarrassing.

    • Good point - The last few weeks I haven't been able to find any info on the game day schedule. All I can find is the vague garbage and links to buy tickets.

I think this also comes back to how sh*t the website is in general, which Telstra have put together.

  • Finding the link to contact the NRL on that site is like splashing around in murky water.  It’s purposely misleading I think.

  • Their isn't as much difference as you think.
  • Id take Callum Watkins
  • And all of their teams are from the north of England. You can't say their game is more national than ours.
  • gee Spanner not only your IQ gone up by .1% but your spelling gone down by 99.99%

  • The atmosphere there at games puts us to shame most of the time.
  • Cosmo G Spacely is a tough nut with a lot of mongrel in him, google his highlights.
