Just watching the sunday footy show and they asked hindy what he thinks of loosing players like mateo and k keating and where the spark is gonna come from next year? Hindy didnt have an answer, but said they were thinking of trying hayne at 5/8 again and he mentioned humble to fullback. Freddy fittler jumped in and said hed love to see hayne at 5/8 getting the ball more and being more involved. So maybe in the off season we might see hayne at 5/8 and humble to fullback.

where does that leave mortimer? he is definitely not a halfback, but rather a running 5/8 or possibly even a bench hooker. Im only happy with hayne moving to 5/8 as long as we have a proper halfback directing the play.
Yeah i seen that too, i wouldn't be surprised if Hayne trains the off season for five-eight,
Humble trains at half (with the guidance of Sterlo) as sterlo now helps. Sterlo likes Humble at half... Hayne and Humble will give us good defence and spped, decent kicking game and passing game...
Mortimer i guess should train for hooker or a regular bench spot... I hope Poore trains hard to be a starting prop.
I have said all along Hayne should be at 5/8 but the bloke is big headed and egotistical for too long Hayne has dictated to the team and coach that his preferred playing position was fullback thats why Burt was relegated to the wing,Hayne is a an excellent player no doubt but he has to put what he wants as far positionally wise aside and do the right thing and make a decision that will benefit the side!!!!
yeh i think it will be good to see hayne at 5/8 he will be like a lockyer move. when hayne touches the ball its golden we always look shark and keep the defence wondering what we will do next. we all know that hayne has the best kicking, passing and running game out of anyone at the eels so i reckon 5/8 is his position. yes we tried it before but it takes time and we didnt persist with it, lockyer wasnt an instant success, carney moved to 5/8 and is killing it. we need to allow time and not just "pull the plug" if we start loosing, we have a few trial games and practice to get it right so lets get into it and make next yr work.
and as mentioned we did buy humble as a fullback, so maybe it will be

If haynes plays at five eight! There won't be anymore "hayne trains" or "hayne planes"
you usually see that when he runs the field on a kick return!
He basically plays as five eight when parra are attacking anyways!
"I will be honest I don't know much about the other clubs to comment about any possible availability issues. But I agree it still hasn't been good enough for a couple games. We won comfortably last week with a similar lineup. "
"I understand what you're saying, but is it not the same for all clubs? OR Have we just met the last few clubs when they have not been in our current position? (ie had their #1 side v our back up's back up's)
Getting flogged these last few weeks…"

At the same time regardless who plays in the backs, if we dnt have grunt up front, play wid more energy n discipline. King Wally wont even save us!
