My suggestion is that one State Of Origin game be played in June-say.? The other two games be played after the competition finishers-- say in October? That way interference with the real Ruby League is minimised which to me is only to the good of the game. There are probably many objections to this proposal, so lets debate them in the hope of a consensus emerges. One could, of course, suggest that the three games be played after the NRL competition in October? I think that no third game be played if a State wins the first two games?

Cancelling the third game isn't in the best interest of the game, why pull a match which gives great profit to the game. I'm fine with keeping the series as is.
#1 State of Origin played on stand alone weekends.
#2 State of Origin played over 3 consecutive weeks.
#3 Only play game 3 if required.
#4 NRL Comp put on hold for that period.
#5 Each state to pick 23-25 man squads and all players pay guaranteed whether they play or not. Watch them pull out even if slightly injured then.
#6 Bye rounds abolished as a result of NRL Comp break.
#7 Bring back the biff. Enough of this shirt grabbing whilst giving short arm jabs.
Don`t think that the TV oligarchs would have a bar of that. They pay the billion dollars, they call the tune. Don`t like the idea of the comp put on hold for three weeks, but would agree if there was no alternative.
Yep... pretty happy with that.
On #7 I think players should learn the 1-inch punch. They can make it appear that they're just throwing short arm jabs but then absolutely destroy the opposing player.
Scrapping Monday night football could be a good idea. I find it generally a bit of a drag but I will be watching tonights game! Contradicting myself!
Certainly in favour of your first point. Don`t know about a demonstration game. How about we have the NSW Police v Queensland Police wIth Frank`s suggestion of the biff brought back just for that game??
