Strangest part about the Lomax situation.

To me the thing that stands out the most in this whole situation is how quickly Ryles moved forward once Lomax asked for the release and slammed the door shut on any return by signing other players to join the squad. This tells me Ryles is pretty big on being bought in and commited to the club. Similar to what happened with Brown, Gutho and RCG, ryles did not stand in their way and basically said there is the door. Hopefully the club stands strong behind Ryles and Lomax has to wait a while to get back into the nrl

    • Thing that scares me for society is how a few Melbourne fans are seeing Lomax as being hard done by and we are the instigators. Calling him vulnerable and we have left him out to dry. He will feed off that. One poster said he comes from a beautiful family and Ponissi and Bellamy would know him from Origin.

Never seen a bad season, wait til it happens the place will be on suicide watch when reality hits.

      • I am not so sure that those Storm supporters are not just as one eyed as we are as a group.

I think the real danger you refer to is non aligned supporters taking the view you illustrate. A friend of mine who is not a Parra supporter but know's the the game overall as an ex player and highly knowlegable said to me.....Parramatta is not a desirable destination for many is it!......hard to argue unless you see the positives that we are now viewing / hoping.

I will think you will find among the unwashed that view as pretty central in non aligned opinions of Parramatta.

Our team is only centre of our universe, no one else is worried. What I think will happen in the favour of opinions is that no one wants to see Storm more capable than they are already. I am bemused that we seem to view Storm's involvement as an act of desperation....I think it is just good business on their part.....Lomax would be a terrific pick up for them.

        • It's hard to disagree with that sentiment Poppa considering how notoriously difficult it has been for us to attract top tier talent from other clubs for as long as I can remember.

It's hard to know exactly why that is.

I know there has been valid criticism of head office, particularly in the past, but we have the best stadium, the best facilities, some great juniours, and a huge fan base so I don't why it's so hard for us!

I can't help but think there's some shenanigans that go on at other clubs the don't help us. Don't tell me the Dogs, Roosters and Broncos are always playing a straight bat but there must be more to it and I'd be keen to understand what it is.

      • Well, we all know how knowledgable Melbourne rugby league fans are - or should I say 'rugby' fans!

But this is what's coming, so hopefully Papalii or Lorenzo workout as Ryles plans."

"I think we all know which way Bellamy would go. He wouldn't want to stay to rebuild. I have said and just a feeling, he is going all out for this year to go out on a high. Then in 2027 he moves into a back room role out of the limelight.
