Strangest part about the Lomax situation.

To me the thing that stands out the most in this whole situation is how quickly Ryles moved forward once Lomax asked for the release and slammed the door shut on any return by signing other players to join the squad. This tells me Ryles is pretty big on being bought in and commited to the club. Similar to what happened with Brown, Gutho and RCG, ryles did not stand in their way and basically said there is the door. Hopefully the club stands strong behind Ryles and Lomax has to wait a while to get back into the nrl

  • Sorry Eli, but defs the Most biased Parra fan around

    • It's different having a coach who has backbone and doesn't get pushed around by the players, that's for sure 🤣🤣

      • Bloody oath

        no "BBQ club "here anymore🙌🏻

        • Exactly, he's setting a new culture and if you aren't buying in then the door is that way. As soon as Lomax approached him about leaving that was probably the end for Zach. Not a good character trait at all

  • Echo, echo, echo. No offence but why not just add this comment on the already numerous Lomax blogs?

    • This is more about Ryles tough stance, less about Flogmax lol

  • I totally agree. Ryles has brought a mental toughness to the club, a 'never compromise' attitude. I refered to it in another blog with the word 'staunch'.

We are seeing it now in the clubs attitude toward players, agents and contracts. I think we will see it on the field in spades this year.

It seems to me there is a real unity to the club at present and I agree with your thought and hope that the club stands strong with Ryles. As long as it does, we will continue to improve and, like storm, be in the mix for the title consistenly year after year. Afterall, winning starts in the front office.

    • I love the word staunch, and I love it being used to describe our club even more

      • What about 'moist'?

  • I think Ryles and Browny could see this unfolding through the year and has played the situation superbly. Letting him go early with the provision that he comes back to the Eels puts the ball in our court for any decisions made, they have played him and his Manager like a fiddle.

I wouldn't be surprised that this was a tactic for a player swap the whole time and Storm were the first team to take a nibble.

We finally have some strategy brains in the football department, let's see how it plays out though.
