Storms Helping Hand

Why do the Melbourne Storm always appear to get more than a percentage of the 50/50 calls? They continually still hold down players and get away with it. They always seem to get six tackle resets in good attacking positions and always appear to get great suspect penalties in good kicking range to either level the score or take the lead or change the momentum of games. They are definitely the major premiership threat in 2020. No doubt the NRL want to sent their Golden boy Cameron Smith out a winner. Then he can broadcast alongside his buddy Cooper Cronk.

        • Nope as the NRL dont release those stats but it would be good to to look at for interest sake. It just seems the Storm always get their way at very convenient times in most of their games. Could be wrong but it appears that way.

  • Not sure about all that but in the opening exchanges when Brisbane actually looked to be matching them, Melbourne appeared to be jumping the gun. Their line speed was beyond realistic. They were nearly on top of them before the ball was played. There is no way they could be that fast, they'd break Olympic records.

  • Montos weekly rant about how one team got some good calls has come early.

the broncos have been diabolical all year, of course they are giving away penalties.

  • Storm won that fair and square. Broncos can't maintain intensity for anymore than 20 minutes.

  • I would like to see which officials are giving away the most resets. The media seem to have those stats.

Perenara would have to be up there judging by the Cowgirls v Manly game.

  • Monto you are aware Tigers had 8 players out?Eels were given 6 repeat sets and 8 penalties at crucial times. Against Panthers 6 or 8 repeat sets and Panthers zilch.

      • Probably true Pops. It has been that way for awhile now at least with the Storm.

    • That's interesting stats. I wonder what the Melbourne Storm stats would be like in comparison?
