The guy knows what he is talking about, i would listen to him and give it a go what have we got to lose.
Check out 1982 GF, Sterlo and Kenny were awesome. I was inspired watching it the other weekend. If we only had halves like that we would have held the trophy up numerous times of late.
We don't need to be THAT GREAT in our 6 and 7 but we need to be GOOD ENOUGH as the TEAM can take care of the rest.
Dear Mr. Anderson - are you listening.
I can't remember the last time Sterlo came out to speak publicly about Parra's make up.
When Sterlo speaks about halves combos etc any person with even the slightest bit of intelligence should listen VERY closely to what he has to say.
If Ando is half the coach he is supposed to be then accepting advice from someone who is more qualified to speak should not be beyond his abilities.
I agree. Anderson did well last year to pull things out of the fire but I don't think he is getting the best out of the potential in his squad.
All this talk about 'educating' Morimer in first grade is rubbish, your education should happen in the lower grades, we needed to strike while the iron was hot this year with all of the talent at the club and Anderson has stuffed that up for mine by essentially trialling an untested commodity in the most important position. Dumb move - lets hope he can realise the error of his ways before it is too late.
This is what annoys me. We can all see that we need to get our better attacking players into the halves. We can also see that Feleti Mateo needs to have greater involvement. I truly don't understand what Anderson sees that we can't see?
All of the reasoning behind this is pretty much identical to mine in the rescue plan. I do think Kris needs to be half because he will take control - Tom hasn't played much halfback before and he's not going to take control of the team.
I also don't have a lot of confidence that we can get the Mateo the ball in the types of situations described by Sterlo which is my sole reason for putting him to five-eighth as it forces him to be involved. However, I'm a fan of Humble in the halves and if we got the attacking structures to allow Feleti to be more involved I think that would be the ideal situation.
Is there anyone left who doesn't think Daniel Mortimer would be better served playing dummy half?
I think Morts is not the answer at 7 this year and that has been proven.
I think he is still a highly talented kid that will be good for us in years to come, doing what who knows but probably 6 or 7.
We can't wait until then, we need to win the comp this year so we need to do whatever we can to win it and if that means Morts at 9 sure why not.
But if Mateo is the answer at 6 which i said at the beginning of the season and got bagged for it then why would we let him go altogether? What a wasted player.
For these very reasons you mentioned 1eyed, I still think it is a bloody shame Hayne couldn't/wouldn't play 6! It would have been the best option for our mob.
In my opinion the coach treats mortimer like a son instead of a member of his footy team. He s baby sat him for too long this cant keep happening. I wish sterlo would take up a coaching job but hes on about a billion dollars at channel nine.
I have said all along that I thought Mort & KK "COULD" become the halves combination of the decafe.
However time is proving me wrong.
1Eyed may have nailed it with Mort at 9 with his style of play and right about now we have nothing to lose by giving it a shot.
He has good D, quick off the mark, and tough as teak plus in an emergency he can at least get away a kick that will cover a fair bit of ground.
Cooper Cronk the man talked about to fill this spot, forgive me if im wrong didnt start out as a halfback. His move there was forced after orford left. Melbourne invested time and effort and are now reaping the rewards.
Moving Mortimer to Hooker will only expose his developing kicking game and mean more tackling - hasnt the amount of tackling he has been doing has been identified as part of his problem - no pertrol in the tank.
The current hookers used at parra, catch and pass putting alot of pressure on mortimer like Hayne to do somthing.
Moving Kris Keating and Mateo into the halves would be a massive vote of no confidence and potentially ruin Mortimer - remember they are gone next year.. gone as in not coming back.
To Peter Sterling, you are a legend, but a little less conversation a little more action - why not lend Mortimer a hand since Joey is no longer on the scene.
Im just putting this out there, maybe its Daniel Andersons game plan thats the problem, not the player, it seems pretty 1 dimensional to me.
"Mate I wasn't having a go either brotha , I was just having a joke that all of us listen to bullshit on here every day . Without these tallywhackas and their inside scoops this joint would've been an NRL version of MySpace 15 years ago. "
"I never said he was joining Manly. Not sure where you got that from. I was just supporting Graham about the concerns of signing Da Silva. Unlike others, I do not change sides to suit the clubs decision. I still hold the same belief. I hope I am…"
"He was back doing full contact training before the season ended. So yeah , it's not as if he lodged a request for annual leave and " took it off ", so yeah ok ya got me on a formaility. I assumed the majority would know what I said was in jest .…"

I am really hoping we turn our season around.
