Stephen Kearney

I don't like bagging coaches as its a pretty tough job but I just can't see the Warriors being successful under Kearney. The warriors are my second team since I now live in NZ. Sadly I see players under Kearney going backwards and there is always mention of the players not trying etc which is really just a deflection away from the coaches inability to motivate guys. At Parra and the Warriors I see guys who were good players being moved aside because Kearney can't coach. Players careers just dont thrive under Kearney. Talk is Tuivasa Shek will leave after next year. He seems like one of those guys who will only ever do well as an assistant

  • good move, not sure its true though

  • Kearny,s Lads should be dissapointed.
  • The problem with the Warriors is the way the club is set up.

They are a complete rabble and no coach has any authority. The players have more authority than the coach.

They have a stack of issues but appointing Des would be a good start for them - as long as he is given the authority to fire players - ANY players - who aren't prepared or able to perform for the club.

Mentally they are the weakest club in the comp by a country mile.

  • He is a good operator Brett - but he's not a footy bloke. They need a footy bloke to help rebuild the whole club from the ground up. We are blessed with the Max and Bernie combo - imagine what a difference they could make at The Warriors.

  • Couldn't be too sharp going by the coaching appointments.
  • Their problem is they have too many coconuts , plain and simple . It's just giggle giggle giggle , razzle dazzle footy then break out the guitar for a sing along . Not a hard working footy player amongst them .

They should just send them all off to be scaffolders and re-locate the team to the Central Coast .

Hasler certainly isn't the answer for that team .
    • I can see that point Wiz; Warriors did ok under Anderson and Cleary....and had some tough players like Campion / Hoffman. I agree there seems to be a soft underbelly and they do not seem tough playing for 80.
      • Yep , if I were the Warriors I'd be finding Neil Henry's number quick smart . He didn't take shite from Hayne and it cost him his job . It's obvious he'd rather get sacked then bow down to princess's ego . He could've easlilly have towed the line and kept his job at the GC .

Perfect fit for a club that's willing to hand the coach the full reigns . I'd be bringing in some players in the Beau Scott / James Graham type .
        • Wiz, if Neil Henry felt that Jarryd was the sole problem, why didn't he just drop him? That's what a coach who wouldn't bow down would do.
Don't see how he would do any good down there with seemingly a whole team of difficult to motivate players. He could do fck all up there with a decent team.
Whatever he did up at Tits didn't work and the board made up their mind on his fate awhile back.
Thank goodness he wasn't even considered when we were in the market and he was available.
          • How can he drop a player the clubs paying $23,000 a week and that the board is happy to choose over him ?

Can you tell me where The Titans were coming last year before Hayne arrived ? He had that team well and truly motivated before the club interfered with what he was doing .

Compared to Kearney he's Wayne Bennett and Jack Gibson put together . The Warriors have a great squad and a very small window to win a premiership with that squad . If I was them I'd be moving that joker on real quick and getting the best available coach on the market in there to try to salvage some of that window .
