State Of Origin is Killing League.

It is 4.0pm 4/July/2014 there has been no announcement regarding the Will Chambers assault allegations. The assault took occurred 2.0 am Wednesday morning. It smells to me that the usual cover-up is taking place . First rule of a cover- up is do and say nothing for several days, then most people will forget about it and careless about it.

The assault is worse than the Todd Carney outrage. Carney involved only himself, other than his moronic "mate" who took the picture. Chambers assault occurred in public and involved several of his team mates and several members of the public. Chambers attempted to flee the scene of the crime only to be foiled by the arrival of the police.

Why try and get Chambers 'off the hook' just so he can play in a State Ot Origin Game which signifies nothing because the series has been won, done and dusted, and is of no logic whatever? Doing so drags Rugby League further into the gutter and poor repute. All because of a State Of Origin  game !! God help them. It will be interesting if the complainant withdraws his complaint then no charges can be put. What would induce the complainant to back off like that? I can think of one word--money.

It is revealing that with Chambers were Slater , Boyd, and Teo. All of whom have some form in matters like this. There is no suggestion, as yet that any of those were involved in the assault. Slater was reported of pulling people away from the melee. If so, it is to his credit.

Rugby League can not take too many more of these scandals. This one is down to a futile and useless State Of Origin game. State Of Origin is killing league.

  • It's injuring our players that's for sure!

It's also the reason we only have 5 matches this weekend or 6 teams not playing.

I'm starting to wish the eels had no players in origin.

  • Didn't you also say that the new rules would kill league? This is the closest and most fiercely contested competition in years.

    • No, I did not say that. I said that the new rules would suck. The jury is still out on that I believe. Might have to wait till the end of the season to hear what the beaten team`s coachers say about the new rules.

  • i would prefer police did job properly and not rush charges.
rushing charges against an innocent man or rushing charges against a guilty man who is subsequently acquitted due to the inadequate investigation causes more damage than state of origin
    •  It is not the Police`s role to make judgements of guilt or of innocence. That is the role of the courts. I have heard tonight that the Police will not take action in the Chamber`s case. It thus seems that the Police have made a judgement of innocent to Chambers in spite of witnesses who saw the assault and in spite of the fact that Chambers ran away from the scene of the assault. Why did he run away? And why no charges? I did mention a cover-up  you will recall?

    • wow thanks for explaining how courts work
  • Todd Carney is a repeat offender who was on his 'last chance'.

    •  I am not defending Todd Carney. I make the point that of the two ghastly incidents in the one week the one in Brisbane is arguably worse than the one in Cronulla for the reasons that I gave. Carney is gone for life and I now hear that that the Queensland Police will take no further action in the Chamber`s case!! Surprise, surprise.!

  • LOL  Nothing happened in Brisbane, it was a couple of idiots starting some shit with some footy players.

Can't players go out and have a quiet drink without some fuckwit trying to start shit with them????

Carney is a serial pest who has a rap sheet over 8 years old, and i know for a fact half the crap he pulled at Canberra was covered up.  He should have been booted out of our game long ago.

    •  Can`t players who want a quiet drink do it in the privacyof their hotel room without any public being present? Instead those "innocent" players went to a well known dive and were drinking to 2am in the morning . At the dive were members of the public. That dive was where Mr Meninga was escorted off the premisses last year. So they all no excuse of saying "we did not know about it "
