Standouts And not

I have to say that our 3 backrowers had fairly good games, out of everyone on the team thought they played good. Mateo, hindy and ben smith.
Mateo- He ran hard, fast and was i think our most dangerous player out their(with hayne), you could see the impact he was making in the first half, as soon as he got benched we started going downhill.he was looking good and didnt throw any stupid passes, he had his hand free and showed hte goods

Hindy- Made a heap of tackles, played alot of mins and was his usual give 100% self. thought he was getting tired towards the end and needed a break but played well.

B.Smith- Hard in defence, some very strong one on one tackles, some good runs and cover tackles. only fllor was the elbow on price, but credit for putting the kicker under pressure, havent seen enough of it and was the only one pressuring kickers all night.

THe only bad point i have to note are
Burt- get more involved go in looking for the ball more, he has speed and is slippery so get in a give the forwards and other backs some help. i know he is short but needs to work on his jumping. would like to see the amount of times he touched the ball to the other backs.

Wright- thought he played good minus two things, some bad reads in defence and not helping burt out on the jumps/high balls. wright seems bigger and strong so maybe jump for the ball or give burt some help, if not get ready for the opposition player to get it or for the ball to be knocked down dont just stand their.

Mortimer/Robson- Getting a better kicking coach because the kicking game tonight was very poor. kicks went straight to their fullback or wings, give some variety and worst comes to worse do a bomb- its a 50/5- chance of getting the ball back so give it a go. if its not working do a chip or grubber or something not just cross field kicks or to their players. if it doesnt work the first time then mix it up. would like to see kimmorley for a year just to teach them about kicking.

  • the only problem i have with mateo is that he never seems to pass it before the line, which i thought would have been the better option a number of times in that game.

Don't get me wrong, he's a great player and is godly at the club level, but he just hasn't been able to stand out at the origin level.

"Reece Robson is a decent defensive 9 but the difference in class between the 9s was huge. Qld laid in the ruck every time nsw got a quick play the ball. All Robson had to do was fall over the guy in the ruck and he would of got  a penalty. If you're…"
