St George Illawarra have landed a huge recruitment scalp by securing Australian star Keaon Koloamatangi to a long term near $5 million deal.
It is understood that Koloamatangi has told the Dragons he will join the club from 2027 on a five year deal. The contract is now in the cooling off period.
It is a clear circuit breaker for the Dragons who were in the market for a marquee player.
Koloamatangi’s current club South Sydney wanted to secure him as did Parramatta.
The Dragons though look set to land the prized recruit after gazumping the Eels and Rabbitohs with a monster five year deal

Dodgy contracts with player options have subsequently been proven to be right through the succesful clubs. Do you think MON would be smart enough to have invented dodgy options?
If he is incompetent or redundant as you say then we have a lot more trouble than MON, who keeps him on and why has Ryles not cleaned it up? I have always said he is badly titled. He is a coordinator not a negotiator.
Do you think that if Ryles had a reason of Mons fcuking up recruitment that he would still be there ? It effects Ryles at the most significant of levels.
Effectivey and its on the record from Saratinos that they give Ryles full authority to do what ever is needed. Mons does the leg work, Ryles does the decision making.

It will come, Ryles is very green and his jobs safe . It took BA years to finally challenge MON and once he did it became a Cleary vs Gould scenario. BA almost won the battle , MON was attempting to go back to the Tigers as when we were winning BA was always going to win that war. But as soon as we had the Dylboobgate and the extended Moses injury's after that anchoring us to the anus of the ladder , MON got BAs scalp.
MON ultimately is still Ryles's boss.

Garbage poppa, player options through other clubs are very minimal, at there peak in 2024 the eels had by far the most with 7 players under contract with player options, the next most was the raiders with 3, some other clubs had 2 or 1 with others with none.
Who are theses successful clubs with player options in their contracts?.
If the player options are so successful why is it that the eels have rid themselves of all contracts with player options?.
Some examples of how damaging player options contracts have been for the eels, lost talagi who had a player option, lost Brown with a player option, lost Sanders because his path was blocked by players with options that have since left the club by utilising their options, had to keep matterson who we desperately wanted gone because he took up his player option, had to increase moses salary to have the player option removed.
They have been an abject failure and everyone can see that except for you.

Let's just forget the fact that Ryles himself said it's MONs job during an interview discussing the acquisition of Joash. And all the usual suspects told us " see MON is the man responsible for the recruiting " . Myself and a few other MON knockers tipped our hats to him for getting that one done.
But when it's a missed target it all of a sudden is because Ryles was playing it smart and realised it wasn't in our best interest to pursue the player .
So when Arthur was here we missed all these players because of BA , and now we are still missing players and BA is gone. Theres only two common denominators and ones job title litterally includes heading up the R&R segment and the others is R&R .

Mate I'm angry, we let Lomax go without getting someone we couldn't even get Garrick, Galvin, Keaon to come yet we couldn't keep Pezet for additional years. Yet this recruitment has the balls to say we never offered 4 years. The R&R from BA era had to fuck off completely.
Team is heading in the right direction and our cap space is great heading into 2027. We in a great spot tbh
