St George Illawarra have landed a huge recruitment scalp by securing Australian star Keaon Koloamatangi to a long term near $5 million deal.
It is understood that Koloamatangi has told the Dragons he will join the club from 2027 on a five year deal. The contract is now in the cooling off period.
It is a clear circuit breaker for the Dragons who were in the market for a marquee player.
Koloamatangi’s current club South Sydney wanted to secure him as did Parramatta.
The Dragons though look set to land the prized recruit after gazumping the Eels and Rabbitohs with a monster five year deal

Biggest signing for the eels will be keeping Moses on the field for 20+ games. That'll be better then anyone they can sign
In the future I wouldn't be surprised if Moses asks for a release from his contract because of this shit managed club, and I wouldn't blame him, he wants to win. Hell we might lose Moses to the dragons. Why on earth did we release Lomax when a week later that shit R360 got delayed
Why they finished the season strongly 😂 I do think Ryles has a lot of say in our recruitment to. Same as Galvin he's not going to increase his offer. If the player wants more money to join then Ryles isn't going to budge
Obviously he is not an attractive enough to attract other players along with Ryles
Cause Ryles didn't want that money on a winger and also wanted players who were all in.
Ryles isn't desperate yet, wait until we fail again and he's heading into year 3. He might start sweating a bit more then and loosen the purse strings.
From what I have heard from within the club, Ryles was happy to see the back of Lomax.
