St George Illawarra have landed a huge recruitment scalp by securing Australian star Keaon Koloamatangi to a long term near $5 million deal.

It is understood that Koloamatangi has told the Dragons he will join the club from 2027 on a five year deal. The contract is now in the cooling off period.

It is a clear circuit breaker for the Dragons who were in the market for a marquee player.

Koloamatangi’s current club South Sydney wanted to secure him as did Parramatta.

The Dragons though look set to land the prized recruit after gazumping the Eels and Rabbitohs with a monster five year deal

  • I'm glad this overrated player never came to Parramatta  . We have to many fans who get over excited when Parramatta are linked to a player or are known to be chasing a player , we have the among the worst CEOs in the game who has shown beyond doubt that he does not have the ability to make Parramatta a attractive club for players despite having more advantages than most CEOs and he has had 6 years to do it .

We also have the worst HOF who is  beyond a joke and to top it off the club board can't see how useless these two people are to the Parramatta cause,  so as club we are fucked from every angle with Jason Ryles being the only hope the club has .

  • Am I too late for the " he's shit anyways "  comments ?.

MON must've forgot to take him on a weekend trip to the famous Kellyville and show him around the new irresistible headquarters.  Like it's not as if the kid will be able to swim so why would he choose a dive like The Gong over some prime swampland filled up with asbestos and slag out in far Western Sydney.

But in all seriousness , there can't seriously be one single MON supporter anywhere on this site. So why can't the club see it ?  The next election campaign would have to have his axing as a point of someone's promises if they're elected.

    • We have no election campaign wiz , the people who run the clun don't really have to answer to nobody , they don't have to  fear the members because they have no say and people who are in charge of monitoring the board clearly have zero standards or care because we have nobody at the club who can help the Parramatta cause.

    • Issue is knowing the club they would sack MON and promote Ben Rogers as GM.

  • So what now? Who would we go after now and then miss out on them? What is this clubs priority?

    • Unsure but will have no effect on the 2026 season, opportunities will come up no doubt

    • This is what happens when a board don't have to face members or be elected, they have zero pressure on them to perform.

  • Yeah look no sugar coating it, this is embarrassing losing out to Dragons who never get anyone they go for. They still get someone over us.

Now was it the extra year and money? Perhaps but even Wests Tigers managed to get players like Luai, May and then could get Turuva. If we offered the same as Wests, we would still miss out.

We have a finished COE, Ryles looks the goods, an actually Halfback and money and still couldn't get deal done.

    • Probably do need to spend that on outside backs and a 5/8. Instead of Keon if the club is being realistic 😂
