Jarryd Hayne has suffered a brutal double-blow in his quest to play in the NRL next season, with St George Illawarra and Parramatta both reportedly withdrawing their interest in signing him.

The alleged victim has spoken to both the NRL Integrity Unit and NSW Police.

According to The Saturday Telegraph, the Dragons’ reported decision not to pursue Hayne’s services for 2019 is due to a disagreement over his market value – not the alleged sexual assault.

The Dragons emerged as a viable destination for the 30-year-old last month after the Eels failed to offer him a new contract.

Both Hayne and Parramatta management have expressed their mutual desire to reunite next season.

But the Eels were unable to re-sign the two-time Dally M Medal winner due to a lack of salary cap space.

That left the Dragons, who need to sign a quality outside back after the departure of Nene Macdonald (North Queensland Cowboys) and Jason Nightingale (retired), as Hayne’s best apparent option.

But News Limited is reporting the Red V were only prepared to offer Hayne $500,000 a season – the same wage he earned at the Eels in 2018 – while the veteran wanted a two-year, $1.4 million deal.

To make matters worse for the former San Francisco 49ers running back, Fairfax Media is reporting the Eels have now pulled out of the race for the Hayne Plane following the latest allegations against him.

Hayne is also the subject of a civil lawsuit filed by a Santa Clara woman alleging he sexually assaulted her in 2015.

No police charges were laid over the alleged incident dating back to his stint in the NFL.

The veteran of 214 NRL appearances has been loosely linked with a move to both French Rugby and Super Rugby, however, his off-field issues could `scare off possible suitors from rival codes.
