Shrewd as they come, veteran agent Wayne Beavis has already made approaches to commercial airlines about sponsoring the Hayne Plane - whose fuselage is currently clean-skinned.
We've heard Beavis is looking to talk with Virgin and Jetstar about making the obvious investment in Hayne. The Eels megastar has previously done some limited work with Jetstar, but his avian-inspired post-try celebrations and sky-high form have the potential to make him the face of either airline.
"It's definitely something I'm looking at and I hope to have some talks next week about getting something organised before the finals," Beavis said.
We thought another possible fit could be with Air Pacific - the official carrier of Hayne's Fijian homeland.
But the airline's marketing manager Mereani Niuqila did not indicate whether they'd be interested in sponsoring Hayne, who has also been in talks for several months about fronting Fiji's tourism campaign. But whatever the outcome, we reckon Parramatta should pull out all the stops and find a tuxedoed midget in honour of Tattoo - the pint-sized star of the 1970s hit TV series Fantasy Island.
Those who were around when planes still carried ashtrays will no doubt remember Tattoo's famous catch-cry that started each episode: "Ze plane, ze plane!!!!".
