Spoke to the guy in charge of the broadcasting over at CAAMA and he said that this year he tried multiple times to get in contact with the Eels in regards to broadcasting the game but he received no response from them.
He was highly disappointed about it, and couldn't understand why they didn't contact him.
He said they are still interested in 2018, if the Eels are willing to come to the table.
I think we should make a push next year to get it broadcast. Those CAAMA radio commentators are hilarious, give a local feel to the game and really make it a fun listen.

Pretty disappointing stuff.
Agree fully that CAAMA does a great call- won't be the same
Some one needs a kick up the backside
Maybe they need approval from the NRL to broadcast it?
I think they need approval from broadcast rights holders (I know Fox own the rights to the Trial matches for TV). If this was the case, I still don't understand why they didn't respond. He did make it sound like that they always went through the Eels.
I'm a bit over putting shit on the club, but this poor bloke from CAAMA had all the time in the world for me. A simple response from the club would have been the right thing to do.
You can't just treat everyone as idiots and then expect them to fork out $300 for shitty passes into a semi public bar .
Fair points Wiz and Fuuuuui . . . . .
It's not a good look, that's for sure...
How about waiting for the other side of the story before crucifying Bernie and his staff.
