Sorry to say but....

I think Luke Burt has offered just about all he can to the Parramatta Eels. This is not another blog to bring the legend down, especially after the recent defeat - but I think it's been coming for a couple of weeks now. He's slow, he can't get past or shrug off defenders, he's just adding nothing other than experience to the team... and at the moment it is not really enough.
I love the guy, he's given us a great service but respectively i think it's time to bring in some new guns or put Inu on the left outside Tahu and Grothe back on the right..

  • please!!!!
luke burt is not the problem
  • inu is leaving grothe is injured and off contract also is a bad winger likes to leave his wing too much
  • Luke is no the reason why we lost at all... I know this, I think we all do but dude he is not doing too much out there and I think it's time we use some other players.
  • Yeah dropping Burt will give us a win for sure! "insert rolling eyes emoticon here"
    • I don't think dropping him will bring us some wins and like i said it's not the reason why we lost tonight but we do need to start looking at a long term option soon.

What are our stocks like in the wings in the lower grades?? do we have and guys with speed or size coming thru?
  • Grothe is out for season.
So who you gonna replace him with?
    • Agree. Burt is not the issue, really.

Even if he is not playing amazing, the problem is the overall intensity in the team, lack of strategy and lack of direction (halves). Hayne has to compesate for this and when he does, we do well.

The problem is that the opposition is going to do everything to shut him down, and when they do, contrary to other suggestions, we do not seem to have other options. The answer here is that the other senior players need to step up and show more commitment.
  • burt still has speed remember the try against the rabbitohs and the try last year vs the panthers when he covered 50 meters and stripped the ball of sammut.
    • Yeah he had a top game that game, I remember it well, but it's been a long time and even if at all this year since i've really seen him do something outstanding like that, hence the blog.
