Hey guys
Just a few thoughts:
1) I finally got to watch Fridays game yesterday and was observing Tim Mannah closely to see why many members want to send him to NRL exile. Tim has never been an enforcer as many want him to be and will never be. He wont make that big hit or break the line on many occasions. He will make 10-15 metres and get a quick play the ball and make his tackles. He isn't going to rant and rave or swear profusely but he will be a constant encouragement to his team mates.
Two years ago Tim got the best player award at the club (correct me if I'm wrong). He may be playing a bit lighter this year but my observation is he still doing the thing he has always done. He only gets about 30-40 minutes and that is BA's choice, I am pretty sure he would want to play more minutes. I think when you play so little minutes it means people arn't going to notice you as much.
My conclusion is that i dont think he is playing that bad and still has something to add to this team. I sometimes wonder if once a few people post something about a player then more and more begin to jump on the bandwagon without really closely observing to judge for themselves.
Just my opinion
2) It was great to see Kaysa having a break through game on Friday night. I am fan and always have been but i do note the observations regarding missed tackles at times. i wonder if Kaysa can be a very good 50 minute hooker and I just wonder if BA hasn't picked up this 80 minute hooker idea from Bellamy and Smith. It ain't going to work for us!
I hope and I think many others will, that BA continues to pick Will Smith and plays Kaysa less onfield and I think then we might see less missed tackles. Will S can also add that fresh set of legs and speed that can break apart tired opposition defenses. As stated on this site before it seems criminal to put Nathan Brown as the dummy half when Kaysa goes off and it takes away from our go forward. here's hoping the coach sees it that way
Just my thoughts.....

Kaysa I couldn't agree more with what you said. 100%. KP/WS combo I can see working well for the remainder of the year.
Timmy is exactly as you say. I do think he was poor on Friday night though. He took a bump so maybe that was it but he was extremely passive in defence and Alvaro showed him up big time. I've always said Timmy is not the problem. If he was the 3rd or 4th best prop at our club he'd be a great asset from the bench because he gets the job done in a professional and workman type manner. The only problem with Timmy is we're asking him to be our No1 prop. Not his fault.
Sometimes in this modern game the best thing to do is give a penalty or two away
Wille, agree, he seems to run hard for the first 10 minutes only and then starts to slow a bit, in the game on Friday night he came out badly in a multi tackle on a chooks forward, and stayed down as the play moved forward, he got up fairly gingerly after the trainer came to him, he is said to have copped a black eye from it,
He has not gotten the metres as he used to but still tries, the worst part is that the opposition are turning him to his side, meaning he is not able to get his leg drive, that he can when tackled front on or turns to push backwards with his legs going forward. That also limits how quick he can get up to play the ball.
That said I really suspect that he is having some niggling injury problems, perhaps the shoulder that put him out last year and could have taken a hard bump on it.
Thing is, and as Mutt says, Tim is not an enforcer as many want him to be and expect of him, he is however, a reliable prop and gets the job done which the coach wants.
Wille, Kaysa is still young and learning, its his first year as the run on hooker and each game is an improvement as he gets more time on the paddock he gains experience, with the arrival of Moses, who he played with in the juniors there is a bit more confidence as well. The HIA on Friday gave him a spell at the right time and he came back well, his passes of Friday were better also.
He is still really a slight build and as he ages, and his body builds up & toughens he will be fine.
Tim always starts and is the Captain.
He's the captain because he's a calm head and very experienced. This is why he always starts. But he doesn't play the longest minutes because he isn't as important to the team as many other forwards. You need to get it out of your head that the captain is supposed to be some hero everyone worships. It's a shitty job most players don't want. Leaders can lead without being named captain.
