After having watched the Eels bumble and fumble thier way through the last 6 games, there are several observations that I have made and I am interested in hearing peoples comments.
1. KK must never kick for touch from a penalty. I swear to god if he misses touch one more time, I will personally run on the field and slap him around. Please let Hayne kick... nuff said.
2. We have all seen the ridiculous amount of mistakes that we are making. What makes me even angrier is how everytime we make a mistake (drop the ball on the first tackle), we seem to constantly compound the mistake by giving away a penalty. I can't remember seeing the Eels giving away so many DUMB penalties. Anderson has to address this!
Now to some positives from today's game:
1. Tahu's best game this year for us. His defence was outstanding, but would love to see him get more quality ball.
2. Burt's goal kicking is brilliant!
3. Is it just me, or is Justin Horo playing out of his skin? I must admit I havent seen him play a lot before, but he adds line speed in defence, his kick chases are first class, he hits the ball up hard, adds real enthusiasm when he comes on, and he even showed a flick pass to lead to Tahu's try. Please lock this kid up on a long conract, he is only going to get better!
4. Tim Mannah is improving seriously. He might be better than I have given him credit for in the past.
Thoughts please.......

These things happen sometimes.
Also, in regard to penalties, the referees are really focusing on small, niggly things in the play of the ball. As a friend of mine said, 2 years ago when the grapple was the big deal, things we are seeing penalised today, weren't even being looked at. I think the players get frustrated at the amount of penalties being blown and this leads to some silly penalties being given away. It is a sick cycle which I think can be fixed a little by those referees not blowing their whistle so much and letting the game flow!
On the refs, I think the big problem is the two referree system - each one has to justify his role, plus a lot more technicalities are noticed and then you have introduced a bunch of inexperienced refs as well. With the intro of dominant, surrender calles etc into tackles the refs are increasingy shaping the pace and structure of the game, and now we have unproven refs doing it. Today's game was not allowed to flow at all.
MANNAH is fantastic future captain
