I didn't like all the hype leading up to this season. The media talked us up big time and the players started to believe it. If yesterday doesn't wake them up, this will put the club back 4 years.
Paul, can’t wait to see Guth back but coming back too early is a bit too risky imo.
i would drop Norms and replace him with Will. I would drop taka if there isn’t a spot for him in centres. If those two aren’t dropped it condones their lacklustre effort in past two games. Puts everyone on notice.
i would go Hayne at 1 for a full first half and French to wing..asses that and if not Hoffman could go to 1. Seriously French on wing is vital hate him at FB and always have!
Agree there is a place for Gower in the side...at least we gain heart always gives 100.
I thought Tepai went ok yesterday he really tried hard, but his idea of tackling with his head is not too smart...getting worse with his technique. Why the Fock isn’t he learning about what eventuates when a player does that. I wouldn’t drop Tepi based on yesty.
Hope Kenny is ok to go and think Peni is back this week too. Those two will help.
Totally would drop Corey for will mace . Will was the only bastard trying some things at one point and didn't give up is creative and quick .and agree Hayne to fb as well , French cannot cope with his size and Hayne will read situation better ( hopefully)
100% agree with dropping Norman. A statement needs to be made - we're either a professional club or we're a club of boys having fun. A professional club drops for non-performance or those with a bad attitude. Could you imagine a Storm player putting in less than 100%?
Actually the thing that bugged me most about Norman was his reaction to the spray they copped after last week from BA - his comments were something like "Yeah, it was probably like a 7 out of 10 in the blow up scale". He simply didn't seem to be taking it seriously - he didn't seem like his pride was hurt from the loss. It should've been.
I'd prefer a team full of players who play with pride and aim up than a team with people who don't feel like playing for the Eels in the NRL is a privilege. Make a statement with selections.
I think the better question is who do we have ? Looking at our Forwards section on the eels website it looks pretty thin at the moment.
We need edwards, gutho, terepo or vave in the team asap.
I know terepo has issues with his handling but atleast he provides some sort if impact. Our forwards have provided absolutly nuthing these last 2 games. French is to small for full back and was exposed way to much. He was Dragged out of field a couple times and tries were scored when he was in defensive line. French is a winger not a fullback. Drop auva put french on that wing put taka back at centre and put hayne at fullback, until gutho is back.
You said it mate. I could not agree any more. Major reshuffle this week. French to wing, Hayne to FB, Taka to centres (at least until Guth can return to FB), forwards need a huge fucking kick up the arse.
