Sivo - Suspended for 4 Weeks

Judiciary ruled against the attempted downgrade.

Honestly, I don't consider this a negative for us right now, provided Blake comes in. Blake will offer way more than Sivo from the back field and will be just as, or nearly as, effective at scoring tries. Obviously, Blake's issues are defensively and under the high ball. However, Sivo is not a great defender either, but he is safer than Blake under the high ball.

I've seen some comment that they would prefer Dunster due to his defence being better than Blake's. Dunster's defence is better,  but the guy can't keep up with his centre and he will blow plenty of opportunities to score through lack of pace. That's a huge problem to have because we lean on our left side attack to outscore our opponents.

Blake's defence on the wing hasn't been atrocious either. It was at centre where he had to make difficult defensive reads where he really struggled.

I think Blake needs to be given first crack. If his defence is horrible, then we can re-assess. If he sucks, I'd be minded to put Russell on the left wing and put Dunster or Lumlume on the right wing.

  • It's hard to believe they challenged this one for a downgrade. That said, Sivo has been out of form in a big way over the last 4-6 weeks with no tries in the last 4 weeks and very low run metres. He's had a few close calls with suspension recently as well so let's hope he comes back refreshed

    • Sivo's been garbage all year. This is a good chance to make a change and get him to earn his position back through form and effort, something we haven't seen for a while.

I'd be giving Waqa another chance or giving one of the NSW Cup boys a crack.

      • Agree Sivo has been bog average all year. The Eels recruitment seriously need to get some decent wingers

  • I see Jarrod Wallace, who is a queenslander playing for a Queensland club, had his 3 week suspension for a shoulder charge overturned by the judiciary.

Can't disadvantage a Queensland club now can they.

Not fair on the Dolphins fans.

    • Plus Dolphins could still scrape into the 8. Plus gives NRL fans this feeling of Dolphins good and they rock by getting him off.

    • This goes to show the NRL are running agendas. It can't be viewed any other way. The NRL have done everything they can to make life difficult for Parra. Is this still a carry over of the salary cap sagas, or are they doing this to us because we sell papers and will keep coming back for more? Thw NRL need to understand that if Parra fans start turning away from the game, the game is in big trouble.

  • It was a dumb decision to challenge this. It seems we're in the business of dumb decisions these days.

  • This probably highlights why we never usually challenge. Two disgruntled ex Eels on the panel - probably just said - fuck them!

Bob Lindner just took our $ and did fuck all as a player whilst the other yak has had it in for us for years. Surely we should have said they should be recused due to possible bias.

    • Last time I saw the lineup wasn't Luke Pattern on this MRC and judiciary team somewhere? That cunt hates us and whether he's been in the bunker , reffing or any panel of power , he's openly been happy to smash us.

  • Don't get why they challenged this? It may have hit his shoulder  but it still contacted his head. To challenge it was stupid.
