Signing predictions !

If you can only name one player who you think will be most likely coming to Parramatta for 2027, who will it be ?

Whether you truly have inside info or just an educated guess, it doesn't matter. The whole excersize of this blog is to create some positivity, as I really think there'll be at least two decent signing for 27.

Now please don't turn this blog into a negative R & R discussion, as we should have the cash to make these signings happen. We should have upwards of 1.5 -  2 million dollars to spend you'd have to think.

Just name 1 or maximum 2 potential signings

      • I do not mind either Pryke or Mataele staying for a year as depth. Both? nah. I think Pryke more likely, as he more likely is content with a dev deal. Mataele i do not see getting an extension. Had a nice game v NQ and played decent for us but also Pryke been getting more minutes off Ryles. But if Ryles wants that tackling machine, Edwards now offers that but better.

Let's be fair though, i had we started the year better and not as many injuries, Brown gets a debut before Mataele or Pryke and neither of them get game time. Many here were on same page that it was extremely likely Mataele would be a 1 game wonder and Pryke wouldnt see FG.

But i would keep one for some depth. But yeah Brown and Talagi too for 2027 will start to get a look in.

  • A middle and an outside back.

Jackson Ford or Fotuaika for the middle. Middle of the road, late 20s, and could be tempted. Fotuaika form has not been outstanding but maybe that's why a new lease of life would help.

Outside back, left centre specifically. Izack Tago is the obvious one, but Jake Averillo too is available.

    ---

    Otherwise, depends on who leaves.

    • Fotuaika not a bad shout. Someone like that but i do wonder how much the club wants to invest in Tuivaiti, Brown, Koina and Talagi as the future middle rotation as well we might be more content just going with a decent 1-2 year option.

      • Yeah that's why I suggested those two. I can see Walker, even Paulo, plus Pryke, Mataele, Lokeni, all leave end of year. Maybe we keep 1 or 2 as depth. So that means Koina/Talagi/Jezaiah get another year in cup but be next man up. Still leaves us short in the NRL, and that's where Ford/Fotuaika come in. How I envision the pack 2027:

        NRL:

        8. Ford/Fotuaika

        9. Smith

        10. Hopgood

        11. Su'A

        12. Kautoga

        13. Paulo

        14. Da Silva

        15. Tuivati

        16. Doorey

        17. Williams

        ---

        Cup:

        8. Pryke/Lokeni

        9. Edwards

        10. Teancum

        11. Latu

        12. Jezaiah

        13. Guymer

        14. Coinakis

        15. Talagi

        16. Koina

        17. Petrus

That strikes as two very competent packs with variety of sizes and energy. I left out Moretti as I haven't been impressed too much with him but him and young Jack Hudson as further 9 cover can complement the set of options.

        • Well Yehaz i do think there is a chance a player or two does leave from our top 30 before Round 1. Could Moretti be one of them?

I think ideally Talagi would be starting in Cup next year. Hopefully is pushing to start end of this year but Ryda does become one that is like Brown this year, on the cusp just waiting for that chance.

But i reckon Pryke is the one that stays out of him or Mataele. I also do reckon Brown has a chance to cement a spot in the 17, Williams on an edge and maybe Kautoga odd man out. I am curious to see if he walks straight back into the 13. He more likely will to bring Guymer back to the bench but he was hooked in his last match.

          • Regarding Ryda, Pryke could go to bench in cup and Ryda starts.

Or, Teancum could be in the NRL 17 if we don't sign a prop or Paulo retires/goes as well.

Mataele has impressed me last two outings but as Chief said he tends to tire easily and can only be used as an impact sub, and we already have Tuivati who's better at that and can do more.

Kautoga indeed could go to bench and Williams starts instead. I still really rate Kitione and think even with the merry of 6s he's had he's kept a decent level.

            • Mataele is a good back up to Tuivita if T Brown doesn't kick on.

              • Wouldn't Talagi be next up EA? Brown looks good but is he NRL good? Yeah very keen to see. I know you've liked him a for a while.

                • Talagi may be another year away from NRL. Will see how he goes in NSW cup for the rest of the year.

                  • I just saw it from how in that first trial, though knocked out straight away, Ryda was one of the first on in the rotation. Seems Ryles really likes him. Could get a debut and play here and there in NRL in 27' then 28 is his push.

Gus Gould is right when he says defence starts with your attack.
In V’landyball, that’s truer than ever. Average margins are over 20 points and average scoreline is over 50 points in total. The highest in history.
