Lovely amber mate, beautiful fish, they fight alot harder than kings imo, Ambers and Sampsons go very fucking hard, straight down, ive taken a few similar jigging although i think yours has me covered, thats a quality AJ.

Thats a male youve got there, you can age Ambers by size, they grow at just under half a mm a day with good supply of food which is a very high growth rate.
Unlike kings, Ambers spend a lot of time foraging the bottom, they fill their mouths with sand and rubble and filter invertebrates out and little fish, Cobia do the same thing, crab eaters, so ive picked up many nice ones over the years fishing for jew in holes, its not unusual to pic a big one up right in the same holes as Jews at the same time.
Good catching em on plastics too.
You take that on a livie fishing midwater or at depth?
