Should we keep Kelma?

Unsure on his contract status but he's a damaging ball carrier lol. At worst he could come off our bench for punch

  • I just hope someone tells Kelma how good he could be. Talent wise he could be as good as any back rower in the game. Attention to detail is his Achilles heal

  • Absolutely not.

Let another club spend coin on him. Had half a dozen good games in 3 seasons

We have Sua and Williams who will be in the conversation for best backrow pairing in the comp next season.
Kautoga pushing them both. Samrani should start his transition into backrow this summer.

Petrus, Latu both coming through also.

    • Some fair points there. If he's cheap enough is he worth using as depth in the middle though

      • I understand where your coming from Angry but I still think we'd be better off using that roster spot for someone who will take that opportunity and prove they belong. He has a poor commitment level and professionalism.

        • Totally get where you're coming from. I can't help but think how good he can be when he wants to.

          • The problem for Kelma is we have been saying how good he could be for how many seasons now? Kind of loosing patience with him. 1 year deal is all I would offer and as some have said, explore him as a middle too.

            • I don't disagree with you. Perhaps worth trialling him in the middle now

  • Issue is, he is playing well lately, but also playing for a contract. If you can have him on a 1 year deal, sure why not. But on a long term deal could be a risk.

  • Kelma seems like a good bloke. Seems to be liked in the squad. His a wrecking ball in attack. Over the last 2 weeks his effort areas have improved remarkably. If he keeps improving than can't see no reason to extend him. There are a lot of haters on this site. The hate for some players is unjust IMHO. Especially bk, he has been immense for us over the last month or so. On  stats makes similar metres to lomax with less errors. Volkman has been calm in attack. Still needs to work on his defence. Papa is a ball of energy. Kit kat shows huge needs to cut down on the errors. Jdb has been an anchor ⚓ in the centre and showing good leadership in the centre. Harrison has been a wiley acquisition.  We need a couple of key signings moving forward.

  • He has zero upside. That's about as good as he gets. Also, his bad games are really bad.

If he wants to be a depth player, then yeah.

"Jersey Flegg is getting spanked. I got no idea what he sees in some of these older players. The 1-7 are genuinely rubbish. The 13 is terrible. How Howlett, Sorovi and Rokusuka cannot get game time over these current outside backs blow my mind. The…"
