Should slater be named if fit?????

Just read Slater is pushing the clock and might be ready for the WC final. Is anyone else of the opinion of who cares????? As far as Im concerned theres no reason we need him to return with Inglis and Hayne in the side.

My issue with slater at fb is this..... Inglis was moved from centre to fullback at the bunnies beacuse he wasnt making enough impact, so why should sheens name him at centre and not fullback just to accomodate slater? Doesnt make sense to me. In a side as good as Australia with the playmakers we have either hayne inglis or slater could be back there and prefrom equally well. If that be the case I think all you do when you name slater as fb is loase the size of hayne or inglis. All3 can ballplay all three are good hole runners. Why not scrap bennetts lovechild darius boyd and throw slater on the wing? That would make for a better lineup in my opinion.....

  • f Slater even fit hes still a knob........................................

  • The way it will work is it is either slater or tate. I can't believe I'm saying this but put Slater in.

I personally would leave Slater out and put Jennings in at centre over tate.

  • Yes for sure his the best fullback in the game like him or not. Inglis and hayne into the centres would be awesome and piss off Tate.
    • Maybe but as far as for the good of the team doesnt it make more sense to utilise the size and strength of inglis at the back and the speed of slater on the wing?

  • Slater has earned his jersey on reputation and he is the incumnbent, although you would think that he will have to make way for Inglis on the Aus & Qld teams soon enough. Inglis is the most rounded and arguably the best player in the world.

Personally i would have Slater on wing and GI at fullback....

  • Only if he is 100% fit. If his kick returns aren't at 100% then we have the form fullback of the season in the side anyway. Inglis should be there on form in the end. Slaters season wasn't that great this year and he is only at the back on his merit.

  • Slater will be named FB until the day he retires
  • Yes, you want your best team on the field and Slater is still in the best 17 for Australia and given his combinations with Smith, Cronk and Thurston he should be there. Drop Tate.

    • Still like to see Tate there
