This season has been brutal.
I said it last year Capt. after the GF, it's bloody hard to make a GF let alone win one. Moon and the stars need to align and add a touch of luck to have a successful season. It sucks.
No it's not.
So more like EPL model? I don't follow the soccer closely, so what's their version of the grand final i.e. the build up, the day, the merch, the ratings, the ticket sales etc... the sheer 'event' of it?
There might be some merit but how do you offset the "why bother" mentality that might set in for a team that otherwise might make the 8 and have an outside shot when they are too far behind to make up ground say 2 or 3 weeks out?
I'm no soccer expert but I believe they have the FA Cup for that. EPL winner is top of the ladder. FA Cup is a seperate knockout comp.
Sorry guys & girls, but that is it, the final nail in the coffin. We are done for this season.
We have Souths away for indigenous round, so the team we have the worst recent record against and the team that indigenous round means the most to. BA must have broken a mirror and kicked a black cat.
Not calling it yet, but we are now on tightrope stuff, RCG gone for another 6 to 8 and Lane now for 6 to 8. I really don't see anyone stepping up. Grieg has been good, but he is not yet an RCG, all at the same time that Junior has hit a poor patch. Our defence is still woeful after ten years. Our backline has been an issue for so long that it beggars belief that the Club and Coach have not identified it, or fixed it. Unless they do, and fast, it is season over very shortly. Not there yet, but painting is on the wall.
Don't stress MyBob , BA is thinking outside the box in preparation for the non white people round. I was at the club today and saw Richard B Spencer arriving to give this weeks motivational talks to the team.
