Is it a possibility if we fall so far from 8-1 to below top 4 and losing first week of semis that Arthur would be sent packing, though that in my eyes is an abismal coaching effort i doubt it will happen, i would put healthy money that it wont. However, there would have to be some sort of pressure to the sense that we have kept all the players he wants and there seems to be quick regression. Mahoney and D Brown have regressed so fast compared to last year. Press conference saying it is an easy fix, well surely the edge defence and attack can be also, since Rd 10 issues have been present, come Rd 16 we have a loss that was long coming and could have been avoided.
As a rookie or a 2nd year coach this can be forgiven, a coach with 170 games experience it is not acceptable and how can we expect that to be different come semis in the future. This will be the same exact team next year and no free agents to even consider besides a few wingers like Addo-Carr and Johnston. That is concerning, considering how he develops juniors who always seem to fire early then regress quickly, i.e. Moeroa, French.
The reason for his sacking would be in part that we are not improving, we slightly improved, though i feel that is all lost in the moment of terrible form. Yes due to a condensed season we have had limited breaks, though Penrith and Melbourne have persevered fine and the Roosters have had massive injuries and done fair considering their circumstances. We have our full strenght 17 with 16 of them all re-signed and we're are regressing there's no excuse.
Though he is not 100% at fault for the performances, he is far from free of any blame. Though he will not be sacked, could a drop out of top 4 and first round loss in the semis prompt Parramatta to expect excellence and move on? doubt it but i think there could be at least 1-2% of people within Parramatta getting irritated with the averageness of the current leaders in this club. if in 7 years its not good enough then how will it be in 2 more years?

We won't sack Brad - it would just never happen but
I would say if we didn't get a premiership or come damn close in the next two years then I doubt very much there would be any use to extend his time further. Brad and the board would realise that they both need to go in different directions. We are definitely in a premiership window and need to grab it.
I was listening to Hadley on 2GB this morning. He said that BA always struggles when he comes up against quality coaches and formulating the right game plan. Whether you agree or not, the fact is that when we come up against your Bellamy's and your Bennetts, the Eels get found out. The blowouts are there for all to see against the Storm, and now the Bunnies.
Good coaches (and staff) analyse video day in, day out. What works one week, can be countered and neutralized the next. This is the problem with BA. There is no plan B so it's easy to defuse what we do in attack and defence. Case in point, Codey Walker last night sitting there waiting for Fergo's tap back. He already knew what we were going to do from the video they did during the week. We are defensively shit on the edges, this has been a season long issue with no fix in sight. No variation, no plan B.
And we have another 2 years of this. I agree, it's mediocre.
I think its a bit late to change coaches this year. The coaching merry go round has already started.
