Edited* for some reason didn't show up before. Just looking for a place that has cheap parts/components either on the net or in Western Sydney. If anyone knows of a good shop. Hoping to keep the budget under $700. Won't need monitors, keyboard and mouse or speakers.

Lol Ron. Just the usual:
case, motherboard, CPU, Graphics card, power supply, memory and storage.
Will propabaly look at having a regular drive for storage about 1TB and a smaller SSD for operating system. Something that can handle regular stuff, i.e. word processing. browsing but also able to handle some video editing and gaming as well so I guess processor at i5 or above and at least 8 gig ram. Will probably dual boot with Linux and windows as well.
Sorry Ron for some reason the blog didn't show. Looking for a good website in Aus or store in western syd to buy the parts, as cheap as possible too.

In Auburn, you won't find cheaper. Parts list and prices on their website. Get there early on a weekend because it gets busy.
The NR Markets are good as per CP above.
If I'm feeling lazy and just want a quick online purchase I use JW for just about everything - www.jw.com.au
My last 4 pc's I've built from scratch - all from jw - always stuff in stock, good prices, specials, quick delivery - also local stores if needed. Their www is good too in that if you do not want to go from scratch, you can pick a system and then edit just about every part of it - either upgrade or downgrade. They have a couple of 'game' systems at the moment around the price you're thinking and similar-ish spec.
What are the most important things for a gaming PC? I've always been a console gamer, and I'm leery of burying something that will be out of date in a short time span.
If I were to build a gaming PC, can I just run it through a 32 HD TV? Or do I need a monitor?
Advantage of a good PC is that you can upgrade the graphics card in the future for longevity.
