See ya Sivo

Bulldogs general manager Phil Gould has likely confirmed the next move of Maika Sivo with the winger set for the exit from Parramatta.

Sivo has a number of options in his contract until the end of 2027 but will be a casualty of Jason Ryles' regime.

Earlier in the week, a report emerged from English publication Rugby League Live that Sivo could be joining his former Eels coach Brad Arthur at Leeds Rhinos.

Gould confirmed that is likely to be the case as Sivo scored the final try in Fiji's loss to PNG.

"I believe he's close to signing over in England with Leeds," Gould said on Nine's coverage.

"I heard a whisper this morning."

Sivo will make for another recent NRL signing if he does move to Leeds, after Keenan Palasia joined the club.

The departure of the winger continues Ryles' mission to reshape the club's roster.

Reagan Campbell-Gillard has signed with the Titans while Clint Gutherson has been given permission to speak with rivals

  • good , once he stopped getting piggy back penalties from return kicks for crushers , he was wholly infective from the back.

glad Ryles left storm early and didn't coach rest of the season. He has had a real good look at where we at and appears he is fixing our weaknesses. Now for a gun winger signing

    • Fox plz

      • He will be off to St. George i reckon, as is everyone who comes available. My nephew kicked a ball at the local park yesterday, a scout then came over offered him a deal.

    • Unfortunately Sivo hasn't developed into the winger the club needed him to be. It was clear as daylight in the Fiji vs PNG game. He fails to understand positional plays and continues to have poor defensive reads. Other areas that hasn't developed in his game is understanding the impact of a winger's carries. How his carries can influence and create opportunities for the next play or even the play after. Most of us will see it as lazy, but I think it's because he still does not understand.

Sivo came into League with little footy IQ and will leave with similar footy IQ. It's a shame because physically he could dominate the NRL for a number of years, like my old mate Guru in the 80's.

All the best in SL Sivo.

      • He's probably a victim of BA's 'coaching'.

  • Why does pig head Gould know the macinations of our recruitement ......stick to your coffs harbour crew bloke

  • Sivo would be great for them.

    • Sivo would actually tear up SL i reckon. He would score an abundance of tries and BA knows this himself.

  • I watched him play for Fiji last night, and again he was very ordinary. He shows no urgency, it's like he has to stop and think about what he has to do next before he reacts, nothing seems to come natural to him except when he is 5 meters from the try line.

I was on the fence a bit about keeping Sivo, but after last night's performance I hope he is gone.

I am not very keen on JAC, he is in decline, Blake Wilson would be my target.

But a big reason he's making this impact is because a lot of starch has gone out of the game so his energy and enthusiasm comes to the fore…"

"Yea I like Samrani as a 17 rather than a starting backrower. Tuilagi will probably be selected this week with Guymer back on the bench or cup. Latu needs a couple more games in Cup before being a chance of NRL selection I would think."
