It continues to come down to who would you replace him with? Answer in todays market, no one. He has played well in 2025 and is continuing to win pre season training awards. He is growing. Need him to stay until the pathways players can take the position.
We need backline depth we have none can I'll afford to.lose a 1st grade standard centre but if he gets a crazy offer of cash then not much we can do i hope he stays myself
I hope anyone signing for the Bears is ready to play super league at the end of their contracts.
They are heavily tipped to run last, the squad they are putting together wont beat certain cup sides (warriors). Signing with them for their maiden year will be a career killer. No team will be egar to sign anyone from that squad. Especially after running last for the next 2 years.
Either get a pay day now, although I doubt it would be much more than what he would be on at Parra, sign for the Bears for 3 years then head to the superleague at 26 years of age. Or sign a dev deal at a stronger club and work your way up again.
Its not just Russel, anyone that signs there is in the same position. Its why they cant land anyone, its not just the location thats putting players off.
