You would think if Black Caviar was running around these days, her prize money could be as much as 10 times the amount she won. 15 of her 25 wins were at group 1 level.
Only just seen this blog, so congratulations Slippery.
I have seen the some of the great sprinters over the years and can honestly say I think Black Caviar was the best.
I would think that VAIN would be second and Manikato number 3. There were some other great ones as well as Bup implied with Schillaci .
In saying this I have not rated Winx as a sprinter but have no doubt she would have given any of those horses a great race over 1400m and would beat them all over a mile.
Vale Black Caviar a true champion of the Australian Turf and don't let anyone say she was lucky to win in England. She probably would not have started in that race, if Peter Moody had his way. The fact she actually won is testimony to her greatness. The horse she beat went on to become Europe's top sprinter, but she would have put 4 lengths on that horse if she was right.

Euthanised after giving birth to a colt by Snitzel. Hopefully her son will be a good one.
What a shame.

I would love to have seen a match race between Black Caviar and Schillaci at there best.
