Sandow At Fullback for 2015

Hey Guys,

I know these blogs will be done to death, but I would like my 2 cents. As a Parra fan I was shattered about Hayne, but happy that we have such a young team and I have hope that we can strive for real success in 2015.

We have 2 young halves that I am dying to blood that is Zack Docker Clay and Ryan Matterson. I don’t want to write this blog on “Assuming we sign”, just with what we have to grow.

I was at the game where sandow was a fullback and shredded the bulldogs defence. Just imagine he had a full pre-season of training at fullback, Maybe attack as a fullback and in defence on the wing and swap with either Hoppa and Robinson.

My Team would be as follows:

1.Sandow

2.radradra

3.champion.

4hoppa

5.Robbinson – Gun winger and experienced,

6.coreynorman

7.ZDC/RYAN MATTERSON

This is all until we get DCE :-)

  • In the words of Phil Gould: no no no no no.

  • What about going after Jason Nightingale for fullback? The Dragons are shopping him around and he would be an ideal replacement for Hayne. Also if Hayne comes back Nightingale goes straight onto the wing. He is a true professional and would be great for our inexperienced side.
  • If true Nightingale ill be happy with him at our club

    • Yeah I'd be heaps happy with Nightingdale.. especially on say a 400k contract, leaving us with 800k to throw at Foran on a backended contract

  • Robinson a gun winger?? Maybe for Mounties in reserve grade last season, if he was that good he would of played more games in 1st grade... His best footy was when he filled in at Fullback

  • Did anyone see how sandow against the bulddogs where we won??? as if he wouldnt be suited there?

    • They did not bomb him and they were taken by suprise
What happened when we tried it again?
No way, full back has to be good under the high ball
  • One game does not make a full time fullback.

He'll be outjumped for bombs, has poor defense and it will limit his most potent weapon, his 40/20.

No thanks. But I would be happy to see Matterson get a shot instead of him. *Dons Flamesuit* lol

  • I do realise that and I might be being too harsh, however I just dont see us doing well with him running the show, esp now that Hayne has left. Sandow as our main attacker is not going to look pretty, too high risk and spontaneous.

But thats just my thoughts, hope he proves me wrong.

  • No way the bloke is already vertically challenged as it is he would be useless under the high ball!

Norman IMO is the best option for fullback

Floppa does not have the confidence to handle such a role and until he starts earning his well reported salary I rekon he is on thin ice!

I can see where Mallee is coming from just the same. I thought when Joash played 5/8 last year he did well defensively and his passing and linking was not a problem. The problem with Pezet is his speed in defence,…"

"Pezet occupied the middle a lot last night and they combined nicely. Still growing pains but they both seem to be on same page in terms of the goal. They haven't gotten in each others way at the moment."
