Sam Tuivaiti

Alot of praise can go out to several players yesterday but for me big Sam announced himself yesterday with big minutes and more importantly impactful minutes. When Sam and Luca came on they absolutely shifted the momentum id dare say it was Lucas best game in 1st grade apart from the sin bin.

Obviously Moses and Iongi etc get the praise they deserve but Sam has impressed me since the start but yesterday he was a proper 1st grade player.

  • I understand Tuivaiti will be locked up by the club with an announcement imminent, but its becoming obvious Sam has all the attributes to have a representative future.   Even if he was to be locked up for a long term deal say 3 or 4 years,  i think there's no risk with giving him a long contract

    • He's a client under Isaac Moses, so he will be looked after by Mitchell hahaha.

  • San had a great game. Lucas was un-fairly sinbinned imo.

  • Couldn't agree more. I honestly cannot remember the last time we've had rookie prop had such an impact like Tuivaiti. He is braining it in defence and attack and it's so refreshing to see some talent coming in and taking their opportunities with both hands (Smith, Tui, Iongi).

Having Tuivaiti come in and perform also helps us save cash for areas we need help too, so if we can get a couple of rookies sprinkled throughout the team it gives us a little more leverage to spend other areas.

Our front row is looking good with: Paulo, Williams, Moretti, and Tuivaiti, and I'm loving our locks Hopgood and Walker. Keep doing my what you're doing there.

We need to go out and recruit some 2nd Rowers. I'm not as confident on Katoga, or Tualagi for first grade. Both are doing okay, but they have defensive deficiencies.

Nikora, Young, Martin are the next evolution of fast, hard running back rowers, recruit the next up and coming guns from anywhere like that.

      • Not sure what you didn't like about his 33 mins.

Was it his12 runs @ 114mtrs, 40 pcm, 5 tackle breaks, 1 line break, 20 tackles, 0 errors or was it his 2 missed tackles? *

        • @Badg just humour poor old Bob . As said in pops blog . He just thinks that if he keeps throwing the barbs out he will get the bites that he gets off on . Oh bye the way. I thought sam had a great game especially being just a kid

          • Big Tui had a great game.

To say he didn't shows that someone didn't watch the game or they are a troll.

      • You should go back and watch the game, he dominated the middle when he was on and Paulo was off. For a kid that's played 5 games it's pretty impressive. It's been a while since we've had a good crop of juniors come through and perform well.

  • I was very impressed with Tuivaiti yesterday. He played with aggression I haven't seen before.

Moretti was great as well. He just needs to control his temper a little.

"Tuivaiti's not allowed to negotiate with rivals until after the season ends, in November. Twidle is not an 'obvious great talent' at all. He is a fast, skinny dude like so many reserve graders."
