  • On the surface the police are looking for evidence to lay charges against the ex Parra directors and are not after the agents.
They are looking for agent copies of the player contracts. If they found extra evidence they could also widen their goals but the agents should have seen this coming and should not have any evidence lying around that would incriminate themselves or other clubs. Previously players have not got in trouble from police or tax office eg Storm and boats
    • I think if the agents aren't being investigated the cops would not have raided their premises. I think the agents are in their sights also.
  • You are probably correct, however it was reported that the agents were assured by the cops that's they were not after them, just the Parra directors.
    • Yeah something doesn't make sense with this. Why didn't the cops just ask the agents for the information? Maybe they told them to bugger off, as they have something to hide. We shall soon see I suppose.

      • Other words what you're saying is they're striking the iron while it's hot. Can't see us losing points starting next year. We did what was demanded or unless NRL got another ace hidden up thier arses...um...sleeves
  • The police will have to act on whatever evidence they find, However the agents have had more than enough time to dispose of any evidence that might incriminate them or any other club player's.

Due to the fact that the NRL won't want another salary cap shit fight next season they would of instructed the player managers on what to get rid of. This is all about going after the Ex Eels directors to make a statement so Greenberg can stand in front of the cameras & say, This will happen to you if you break the rules. All information regarding other offenders from other clubs will be buried.

We all saw the unprofessional way the NRL used the media to bash the Eels this season when they wanted all our dirty laundry aired. They will now use the media to show it was just an Eels issue & it has all been fixed up.

Can Toddy have an ice cream now.

Get everyone you can to become members next season & make this Blue & Gold Army so big & SO powerful that the NRL think twice before ever taking on our great club again.

The Parramatta Club, Players & Fans have been punished & we have copped it sweat but it's done & we will move on, but take us on again & we will go Kim Jong Eel on your arse next time NRL.

  • It shouldn't be referred to as salary cap raids - it is related to the ongoing matter of fraud by the Directors/Management of the club. Whilst it is an action as a result of the initial salary cap investigation, the raids were not to seek evidence of salary cap rorting - evidence may come to hand that may result in the NRL being able to further solidify the investigations but that will only be consequential to the raids.

But as usual the media want to sensationalise the matter.

    • Correct
  • I think all the factions involved in the clubs past and so called sponsors should be very nervous.
Any player and player manager who hasn't paid taxes on any income should also be worried.
  • I'd say the team least likey to cop any further sanction is the eels. The NRL know what we've done and have punished us. Their is a (I think remote) chance that other clubs may become implicated through this process.
