Sack Daniel Anderson

The EELs would get no where with him no matter who the halfback. The eels never had any structured plays ever since he arrived at the eels. Last year we made it only because of the players natural skill, not because of DA. Most if  not al th tries scored this year were not structured just random plays. E.g. the game against the rabbits, we had no kicking game none whatsoever a couple of easy grubbers on luke burts side wouldve have easily resulted in tries. I dont blame the players one bit if you have no one too guide the team, no matter who the halfback the eels would eventually lose. Credit to the players who manged to make it to the finals on the back of pure skill and diligence.

  • I disagree 100%! There is more going on in the club above DA that is affecting the whole club culture.
  • He has never convinced me. I am not an expert but even I can tell the flaws in the eels game. No structured plays such as the double decoy used at the broncos team Melbourne etc. The eels have to something out of the ordinary to score such as jarryd Haynes tries which I do enjoy watching but I want them to put a team effort. I never backed da not even when they made it to the finals coz I knew all credit is due to the players not the coach coz there was bi organized plays or anything. Look at all the tries we scored in all our games are they a one or two man try or are they scored through proper structured plays as if practiced in training.
  • done good!
  • And please respect other peoples opinions instead of calling it trash. If you don't like it don't respond people are entitled to their opinion.
  • Who did you debate it with?? And if you debated with yourself did you answer yourself? And am I annoying you?..........just teasing! TV is boring and my family are sick of my smart arsed antics so I'm here to stir.
    • Stop smoking it's bad for u
      • I agree we don't have any sort of structure in our plays or our kicking game but you can't blame DA for it. We just don't have the halves to organize them under pressure and pull them off. Morts did look the goods last year and I don't know if it's his confidence or the fact he lost some size through sickness but he's taken a few steps backwards this year. You can't blame DA for persisting with him at 7. We are paying him big dollars we had no choice but to persist. In all honesty I think morts just needs to bulk up and work on his kicking game all offseason. If he can get his kicking game right the rest will follow. We know the kid can play we all seen it in 09. DA should be our coach next year. If he is sacked it will be a turn for the worse. Our players will have even bigger egos and it's not going to change their poor attitudes. DA needs to stay so that our players know they have nothing to blame but themselves. Train harder, become stronger, faster and more disciplined. The thing I'm most disappointed About this year is our inability to finish off a half break and our lack of support play. In my opinion we have the most unfit team in the competition and is the very heart of our missing the 8. You can have a group of the most talented players but without a disciplined and fit team they will never consistently perform for 80 minutes.
        • True very good reply. Morts should be 5/8 nit a halfback  he played well last year in that position and we moved him to half this year and clearly that's not his position. He played 5/8 this week but u can't blame him for the teams poor form it was the team as a whole so I think da should keep him at that position. But I do hold da responsible for not making then work as a team (I.e. Structured plays) what to they do at training if not working on their plays and kicking game. What does ando do. If he make them work as a team set up good plays tells jarryd to coordinate with the halfback then and only then would u consider him a successfully coach
          • I'm sure ando can see everything we are talkig about and does his best to address it. But you have to see that we have a team of individual talent. Do you watch soccer at all? Real Madrid is a perfect example. Their a team of superstars!! But very ordinary as a team. They play for themselves and not for the team. We have players like that. It seems like we have no luck with 50/50 balls this year but I don't believe in bad luck. I believe you create your own. We don't put our bodies on the line and rush for a loose ball, or pressure the opposing kicker. We have no explosive set play and we are slow to turn and chase a kick or even to bring the ball back. Luke burt is a perfect example.  How often this year does he allow his opposing winger to catch a bomb and not knock him over as he catches and allows the offload. Ok some people are going to say he's not the biggest winger but it's not about size it's about force and hunger. Time your run and hit hard and the next time they come to our line it's in the back of their minds. Luke burt smallest player on the field just mauled us!! Quite simply parra is just not hungry enough to want a premiership. Hayne is another example his defensive positioning is atrocious. At fullback he can see everything and I'm pretty sure I seen fui running back after a grubber against souths. Fui is our best player by far. He's always in on the action week in week out he's there running hard. Our team dOesnt need to look at other teams for improving their game just look at Fuii
            • Nicely Put!!
