  •  Is this the end for Hands & Lussick?

    • It would seem so. 3rd and 4th string hooker isn't much of a job.

    • Bet Hands will go to the Bears

  • Great reward for all the effort on and off the field. Congratulations young man! Love watching him play and is only going to get better

  • Good one Parra!

  • Awesome... love to see them operate like Drew and PJ used to. 20 min stints, always a fresh DH on the field and one can go longer if we get an injury in the forwards while the other covers the injury. A middle, an edge and ideally someone who can kinda cover either role make up the other 3 bench spots. Lock up Iongi and this is a youth + experience refresh and I'm getting a sense of Smithy's baby Eels...

    • 100 percent this

was such exciting football and we just ran riot with the " super subs" era

    • That would be awesome Will, unfortunately we only get 8 interchanges these days. In 2000 when PJ etc was with us it was unlimited interchange. In 2001 it was changed to 12 interchanges. I'm not really sure you want to use up 3 or 4 interchanges these days on a fresh dummy half as in 20 minutes on/off etc.

      • I think 2 interchanges in total for the 9's is worth it... half way in each half. Leaves us 6... as long as there are a couple of big motors, it should be ok. Plus, there's always a good chance of an HIA most games it seems...

You're right... it's a hit from the interchange count, 25%... but the chances of a #9 going a full 80... and still being completely effective i.e. not losing the ruck / middle and having the energy to go from DH when it's on I'd say is minimal... eats into the change count but I think it's worth it. Freshness around the ruck and against a tiring defence or a side copping a few 6 agains is gold in this era.

Easy enough to change if the rest of the forwards can't be managed with 6 interchanges but geez I'd give it a go and see how it shapes up with Ryley and TDS.
