Ryles the Super Coach

So the supercoach has come up with run hard, tackle hard. The play book for any U13 dad coach. No shape,no defensive structure and no attacking plays at all.In the first time since watching the game 1977 I have turned a Parra game off.Ryles offers absolutely nothing on either side of the ball and definitely not attracting players to the club.Even the basket case Dragons have signed Keo, Drinkwater and Sami.WTF are we doing.Pretty much the same as Arthurs with no offloads.Rubbish.Not even close to adapting to the way the game is played now.Sack Ryles.

        • If the club had any brains any it should have aligned DBs contract with Mitchell's so you no your halves would have been locked up for Moses's timeframe that's how it should have been done.

What happend here is the club didn't account for Peter O'Sullivan whose had a hard on for DB for 5 yrs we left the door ajar and our arrogance of thinking no one is paying that for DB was tested and they executed the deal and now look at us we lose our best edge and cover defender and we split up one of the best halves duo's in the comp.

All while trying to win a premiership do you think we are better with or without DB the club obviously think the teams better without him to the clubs detriment.

          2 words Amateur Night.

          • I personally dont think DB was the answer either. Its just made worse by him being better in 2026 than what we have currently ready to go.

He fades in and out of games badly, lacks vision and doesn't know how to influence results. All things you really need a $1mil + player to be doing weekly not for a play during a game and he has no influence either side of that play. I'm fine with the club not paying him $1mil plus for the next half decade plus.

What im not fine with is the complete lack of building of our edges and weak middles. The game has changed since about 2021 where outside backs are more important than ever for multiple reasons. They provide strike in attack, yardage metres and have to make repeated defensive plays on the edge and scramble to save trys. We treat the backline like an after thought, If Fox din't fall into MON's lap through his mishap at Dogs and connection to Ryles we may be putting out the worst 2-5 in the history of the game. He needs to address it and add some quality. His edge forwards hes bought here in the last couple of years are a Sharks bench player (who has been great for us), a Dogs reseve grader and plodders like Charlie Guymer who we need to quit the edge experiment with now as he doesnt have the skills or athleticism of a 2026 6 again back rower. Hes running in sand. Sua is a big addition and exactly what we need but the backline needs quality badly.

    • I will say, bit funny how they are about not blocking pathways of younger talent, Lorenzo is the it guy. But they also went hard for Galvin. Lorenzo was still here when we went for Galvin, is it they only then went for Lorenzo as the guy after we failed to get Galvin?
I think we have some decent kids coming through but will still take 2-3 years for them playing to be comfortable and impactful. But we have Lorenzo as the 'one' but we're ready to have someone over him when they appeared.

    • well said fake midget, i swear some posters are never happy

  • It is what it is. We are really missing Browns defensive plays. Hopefully this new kid they have so much hype about is great.
Just my opinion who thinks Smith would make a good lock. Using 2 creative players him and TDS helps our team. Smith has great defensive workloads

    • Did you see him slice up Penrith twice today?

      • There was so much BS commentary around DB when he was here it was laughable but you notice how the noise has changed now after trying Footy Dean Asi Pezet Papali'i and still we haven't an answer to replace DB.I know they are praying for Talataina to be that guy and the hopes and prayers of fans who put the B.s on DB have almost disappeared because now they understand finding a replacement let alone one with the elite talent DB pocesses is going to be nie on really hard to find.

I just chalk it upto not understanding and not seeing it.

    • Combinations is what we are missing if Parra had Moses Brown Iongi and TDS as there spine for the next 2-3 seasons you can build a team round that you can.

Right now injuries with standing we have no answers at 6.Our defense is jekyl & hyde and we as a team lack athleticism and power.Basically we don't scare anyone teams don't hate playing us.As we saw yesterday Olakuatu looked like a man playing with boyz out there our left side didn't want to know.

Fans will lambast the last coach for how the team used to play but for the most part teams 19-22 hated playing Parra because they took you into the hurt locker and if you weren't upto it physically we'd roll over you everytime

Basically injuries regardless we are still in the rebuild phase adding ingredients to the mix and for what we have on the roster games have to go a certain way and teams have to be off for us to win.As soon as possession swings as constructed we are toast. We just don't have the momentum changers to pull a game back and then weight of possession just wears us down and the games gone,

      •

By 2028 I recon the team will have a lot of athelticism in it.

        1. Iongi
        2. Seuseu
        3. Fox
        4. Talataina
        5. Moses
        6. Tuivita
        7. Smith
        8. Hopgood
        9. Petrus
        10. Sua
        11. TDS
        12. Talagi
        13. Koina
        14. Fletcher

plenty of other athletic players in the current team if they continue to improve. Samrani, Kautoga, Doorey, Moretti, Latu, Funa-Iuta, Richie, T Brown, Richie, Will (still young), Nanva, Papalii. Got toilers in Guymer and Pryke to compliment athletics. Hopgood is there. Then juniors like Bloomfield, Sorovi, Roksuka, Howlett, Popo, Polley, Nauer, Nunn, Kotorac, Bell, Bamblett, Davis, Coinakis, Visconti, Capovilla, Risati, Miller. Plenty of FG potential. Need to develop these players and have the core team built by 2028

        • EA, Great post. Very informative. What's the story with Lorima Rokusuka and Samuela Sorovi ? The two Fijian outside backs, 18-19. NRL bound? I recall you mentioning them earlier and see you still have them listed.
