Ryles the Super Coach

So the supercoach has come up with run hard, tackle hard. The play book for any U13 dad coach. No shape,no defensive structure and no attacking plays at all.In the first time since watching the game 1977 I have turned a Parra game off.Ryles offers absolutely nothing on either side of the ball and definitely not attracting players to the club.Even the basket case Dragons have signed Keo, Drinkwater and Sami.WTF are we doing.Pretty much the same as Arthurs with no offloads.Rubbish.Not even close to adapting to the way the game is played now.Sack Ryles.

  • It is what it is. We are really missing Browns defensive plays. Hopefully this new kid they have so much hype about is great.
Just my opinion who thinks Smith would make a good lock. Using 2 creative players him and TDS helps our team. Smith has great defensive workloads

    • Did you see him slice up Penrith twice today?

      • There was so much BS commentary around DB when he was here it was laughable but you notice how the noise has changed now after trying Footy Dean Asi Pezet Papali'i and still we haven't an answer to replace DB.I know they are praying for Talataina to be that guy and the hopes and prayers of fans who put the B.s on DB have almost disappeared because now they understand finding a replacement let alone one with the elite talent DB pocesses is going to be nie on really hard to find.

I just chalk it upto not understanding and not seeing it.

    • Combinations is what we are missing if Parra had Moses Brown Iongi and TDS as there spine for the next 2-3 seasons you can build a team round that you can.

Right now injuries with standing we have no answers at 6.Our defense is jekyl & hyde and we as a team lack athleticism and power.Basically we don't scare anyone teams don't hate playing us.As we saw yesterday Olakuatu looked like a man playing with boyz out there our left side didn't want to know.

Fans will lambast the last coach for how the team used to play but for the most part teams 19-22 hated playing Parra because they took you into the hurt locker and if you weren't upto it physically we'd roll over you everytime

Basically injuries regardless we are still in the rebuild phase adding ingredients to the mix and for what we have on the roster games have to go a certain way and teams have to be off for us to win.As soon as possession swings as constructed we are toast. We just don't have the momentum changers to pull a game back and then weight of possession just wears us down and the games gone,

By 2028 I recon the team will have a lot of athelticism in it.

        1. Iongi
        2. Seuseu
        3. Fox
        4. Talataina
        5. Moses
        6. Tuivita
        7. Smith
        8. Hopgood
        9. Petrus
        10. Sua
        11. TDS
        12. Talagi
        13. Koina
        14. Fletcher

plenty of other athletic players in the current team if they continue to improve. Samrani, Kautoga, Doorey, Moretti, Latu, Funa-Iuta, Richie, T Brown, Richie, Will (still young), Nanva, Papalii. Got toilers in Guymer and Pryke to compliment athletics. Hopgood is there. Then juniors like Bloomfield, Sorovi, Roksuka, Howlett, Popo, Polley, Nauer, Nunn, Kotorac, Bell, Bamblett, Davis, Coinakis, Visconti, Capovilla, Risati, Miller. Plenty of FG potential. Need to develop these players and have the core team built by 2028

        • EA, Great post. Very informative. What's the story with Lorima Rokusuka and Samuela Sorovi ? The two Fijian outside backs, 18-19. NRL bound? I recall you mentioning them earlier and see you still have them listed.

        • How does this Seuseu go Ea, what are his attributes?

  • He came up through the Bellamy system which was hugely successful but built upon the wrestle. Has the game changed too much for that to work any more? Judging by Melbourne's results that may be the case.

  • Ryles needs to stop using the ' Run It Straight ' game and follow the panthers lead and use footwork before the line, otherwise we'll have zero outside backs left.

Look at how Russell was absolutely smashed yesterday.  No footwork just run it straight into 3 tacklers.  Milky Jenkins has never been smashed like that because the panthers have better systems. They use good footwork,  make tge first tackler miss his target,  then get a quick ruck, then it just snowballs from there.   The run it systems has its merits,  but without any footwork its just stupid imo

Also, Walker needs to reign in those short hard passes, he puts pressure on the catcher whose already under pressure.  The panthers rarely use that technique also, where Yeo usually goes out the back or draws in the defender then passes.   This is costing us
